I think if tomorrow night goes bad for Kamala, they’ll have to do the VP debate. Walz may be an idiot, but the alternative is allowing trump and Vance to say “look, she’s afraid.” That line worked already, and that was when the media could sweep for her.
When she’s bombed, it gives more merit to the “she’s afraid” line, and means they’re between a rock and a hard place.

But I also expect that if tomorrow goes bad for her, it will be a compounding effect. We already know she’s a pain to work for, who blames everyone but herself. I expect she’ll fire a bunch of upper level people and make it even more of a hell for those who stay. Which will just lead to more losses, worse decisions, and round and round it goes, where it ends, nobody knows.

Edit: also, remember that polling is beginning to tighten up, and there really hasn’t been a great post-convention bounce. I’d wager it’s already starting to get pretty hectic in the campaign, and that if things go bad, we may see turnover much like her first year as VP (which was what, like 90%? I know it was insane).

it's not and as a michigander i'm fine with this. i was planning on voting for RFK explicitly because he promised an alternative to the two party issue. He waffled until last minute and now he wants out. Bullshit. You can't oopsie woopsie and walk it back. Riding it out until the end does not hurt him in the slightest and what if by some miracle he won? To drop out now is pathetic. Now my vote for him is not because of his promise of an alternative, but rather because fuck around and find out. Given that there literally is no point to dropping out at this point as riding out the last 2 months doesn't hurt you at all i'm guessing due to his endorsement of trump that he is in fact being groomed for a position in trump's cabinet and this was part of the deal. that or trump has taken him for a total fool and will be laughing as he sits there without a position and a total loser.

And does this hurt Trump? Not in the slightest. anyone holding out with rfk at this point would not be voting for the other two, and most of them have probably packed it up and just won't vote. Anyone not invested went to Kamala or Trump months ago, probably around the brain worm talk.

Not that I'm aware of but the streaming sites are cancer and, at least before I quit using them, the players that they used were optimized for low variable bitrate video and absolutely choked when a high bitrate section of video came up, like when there was some kind of full screen effect like static or rapid fire scene changes

While the Trumpers have their own illusions, the Trump they like is far more real than the spaghetti throwing at wall temper tantrum Trump the TDS people and many on the left have. It is wild that we have seen time and time again they can literally show a clip of Trump doing or saying something. Then immediately tell you something completely different happened and people believe that over what they saw.

Endlessly I see headlines of things where something is taken out of context, spun in a way completely different to how it was said and then seemingly everyone I know only ever heard the out of context version of it.

One of the craziest things I've experienced is that when people bring up the completely out of context, misrepresented thing and I explain what it was. The NPC in their brains then tells me I am putting too much faith into Trump supporters from being able to understand the context, as if I have been fooled by Trump into a good faith interpretation. That it's all dog whistles to his brainless supporters.

From predictions I read on Twitter, the ideal route for Harris is to use the debate essentially as a mock trial and get to play the role of 'prosecuting the felon', and they were probably hoping for mikes on for that "I'm speaking" gurlboss moment.

The best route for Trump is force her off-page because she really stumbles when she has to actually improvise on spot.

Personally I think MSM media will claim always lean towards a Dem win, but even they have to report something with some degree of truth if something goes wrong for Harris.

What is true, is that millions will tune into the debate tomorrow at 9 PM EST. 50 million people watched the last debate between Trump and Biden. Assuming half of those are Americans who will vote, as opposed to foreigners, or those who won't. That's 16% of all votes cast in the 2020 election and 20% of all votes cast in the 2016 election. Those numbers matter, that many people talk. The media cannot bury that many people saying "Kamala's a fucking idiot." Just as the media couldn't bury that many people saying "Biden's on death's doorstep."

Just as a recent example, the media gave glowing praises to Kamala after her one-and-only interview on CNN, but it appears that didn't message didn't get out as Trump has been creeping up in the polls while dissatisfaction with Kamala's evasiveness has been increasing since. And that mediocre interview performance was in a very friendly environment. Now for once she's going to have adversarial questions to face in the debate (just from Trump of course, no the ABC moderators, lol).

After a 90% turnover rate there may be a few remaining staffers retarded enough to believe that, but the odds are close to 0%.
