God, now I'm thinking of some other shit critic on youtube who tried to paint Midsommar as a movie about "white supremacy and nazi spirituality", or whatever no one seduced the black guy but the three other outsider dudes who do are white.
Ignoring the most obvious things like;
- Dude number one didn't fuck anyone. He was just with his girlfriend who both got murdered.
- Dude number two was a horny dudebro whose entire personalty was going to foreign country for Swedish pussy.
- Dude number three was an Asshole checked out of the relationship with the main character right when she was at her most vulnerable and there's this redhead that spends the whole movie trying to seduce him until she succeeds. Probably while he's drugged out of his mind because everyone is drugged. Likewise, it's not unreasonable to assume all of this was planned to make the main character join the cult by making the one person left in her old life turn on her. It's deliberate because, well, it's a cult trying to recruit her. The whole movie is telegraphed at the beginning via the artwork in the first scene.
Black dude's motive wasn't even getting ass, it was knowledge. But because he didn't fuck anyone, that's white supremacy? What?

Full disclosure, I didn't watch it in its entirety. I quit, as soon as he jumped into the nazi shit, using the black virgin or whatever. I bet he didn't even consider that the "nazi symbol" could just as well be a reference to the manji, a Buddhist symbol of good luck and prosperity.
Which makes sense if you consider that cults often like to pick and choose from other religions.
