959.99 CDNIf we're being fair $700 USD is $340 in 1995 USD. So expensive but only a bit more than the PS1 launched at.
But that console also aggressively went down in price in a few short years which does not happen any more. And if we're really being fair we'd look at other countries like Canada where we don't know the launch price but $1000 is likely which is $542 in 1995 CAD, or Japan where the price is 12000 yen which would be 97,964 in 1994 yen.
Why does it suck? It has about as much market appeal as Concord.959.99 CDN
sucks
At launch, a PS1 was borderline-experimental technology that you couldn't realistically get anywhere else at the time for that price, even in the PC space, with a healthy dose of exclusive software and peripherals to boot. This is just an embarrassingly outdated proprietary PC with a Sony sticker that doesn't offer the user much that they can't get anywhere else for cheaper, and that's including the pitiful games Sony has to offer today. The inflation argument holds no water in a completely different market; a Motorola StarTAC was practically a steal at 1000$ in 1996 when nobody had mobile phones, that doesn't justify a 2000$ price tag for a mediocre 2024's phone that does the same thing every other phone in the market does but maybe slightly better. So expensive but only a bit more than the PS1 launched at.
Even the 3DO still had Road Rash and the best home console port of Street Fighter II. What does the PS5 have besides Astro Bot?Didn't the 3DO do a similar thing in the 1990s price-wise, then crash and burn ?
Same here. This broke people. There might be some that defend it publicly but they cry in private. These are big problems the PS5Pro has.On the contrary, I have yet to run across anyone defending this monolithic paperweight. You could say sony fucked themselves over hard that not even their haggard fanboys are thinking "hmmm yes, a lack of optical drive is just what I'm after".

I unfortunately have.On the contrary, I have yet to run across anyone defending this monolithic paperweight. You could say sony fucked themselves over hard that not even their haggard fanboys are thinking "hmmm yes, a lack of optical drive is just what I'm after".
Please post reddit screenshots, I love cringe.I unfortunately have.
What do you take me for?
AIDS?Even the 3DO still had Road Rash and the best home console port of Street Fighter II. What does the PS5 have besides Astro Bot?
Star Wars OutlawsWhat game was it that had like a week of early access only for players to see all their work/saves instantly wiped away with a day one with a mandatory retail bug patch?
Totally worth that extra money goys.
Yeah, to the point that shareholders are starting to revolt.Hasn't Ubisoft lost like half its market cap since June?
