Fuck that brings back memories, our first family computer was a dell like that. Playing Rome total war and RuneScape via dialup on 256 mb of ram, the square monitor too!

we had a company that had tens? hundreds? of these things setup for testing something that I can't even remember now, but they eventually replaced them and I had my fill; those things were workhorses and that case is burned into my brain

only other case I can still remember is some Gateway 2000 case that was made of apparently not aircraft carrier grade steel, but just made of an aircraft carrier - that metal was damn thick and we got the bright idea of modifying the case to take an ATX motherboard (IIRC) and it took hours with a dremel to cut that shit.

This is the one we got, it was cheap but is adjustable so we can go as course or fine as we like. It's also small, but with just my wife and I drinking coffee we were able to grind once, make our two cups, and still have some grounds left over. I'd send the amazon link but it was clearly a chinese drop shipper (QIYUEXES) and the listing is gone.

For me it's the moka pot, the best way of brewing coffee.

Electric percolators use the same extraction method except they don't burn the shit out of the coffee. I do know people that like the over extracted flavor, but I will never understand how people enjoy moka pot coffee in 2024 (unless you live in Italy where they jerk themselves off for moka pot coffee)

once you realize that for many people, coffee is ritual disguised as drugs (similar to how shaving and pipe smoking are for many) then you realize why the complex steps are required, even if the end product is indistinguishable by science or man

Hint: Using "male" or "female" as a noun rather than an adjective when referring to a human is intentionally dehumanizing language meant to make you think of that person as an animal or object with the sole purpose of persuading you to give no fucks about what happens/happened to them. It's why the military uses that language and rarely utters the words "man" or "woman" in the day to day. It's why ER staff refer to patients as such; to detach themselves emotionally for their jobs (this example is less malicious, but the same concept). I get that to some, it might sound like I'm being a sperg (I sort of am, but hear me out), but this is day to day subconscious brainwashing to convince themselves, each other and you that the "males" and "females" are fucking cattle with no rights, no souls, no minds and no feelings, which has a whole list of serious societal ramifications.

Look at the incels who unironically keep saying "female" as a noun for further proof.

If it makes you feel better, this does not have a large effect on psyche. The mind is incredible at adapting to attempts to create euphemisms.

Over a relative short amount of time words like crippled > disabled > handicapped > differently abled etc. come about because we adapt so quickly. You can change the word, but you can't change the referent or the feelings or attitudes to it. Atleast via sleight of hand word changes, you can't.

It's more of a politeness game than an actual change in behavior or human psychology. Ultimately in vain, but a social lubricant. Look up pejoration and amelioration in language for more examples on this process.

Edit: the aforementioned processes are actually for shifts in meaning. Related process however.

It's all about how much bitterness you can tolerate. I like black coffee, but I also like really dark chocolate, dark stout beer, an Brussels sprouts. I drink coffee with stuff in it as a treat, but usually it's just black. Oddly enough black+sugar is really gross to me, it has to have creamer and sugar or else I'll just take it black lol
