And 99% of them deserve to be thrown in the pit.
AZ, Drinker, Act Man, Mauler and Co., Nerdrotic, EVS and Co., EJ, etc., have nothing but the most superficial critiques hidden behind snarky remarks.
Hold on.
I've spent some time in the audience around these guys and I can tell you that there isn't an effort to be film critics. At least not in the way that someone who writes for a tabloid, or teaches a class about film theory would. Their method is to just be bros about it. Their pre-knowledge as fans of the media they're talking about verifies their opinions with other hardcore fans.
The "Fellowship" regards themselves as no different than their fans. Sure they let the fame get to them now and then, how can having half a million to 4 million people paying attetion to you not get to you sometimes---however... Time and time again you will see Nerdrotic, Ryan Kinnel, Geeks and Gamers, Eric July, Az, etc. going on to channels with less than 1k subscribers and keeping the same energy they have on their own shows. They are truly nerds/geeks/gamers/fans. That's why attacking them has been pretty useless. They're not trying to tell you that they have a better way, they're portraying themselves as sitting on the couch next to you throwing popcorn at the TV and BOOO'ing alongside you.
Wanna know why that works?
The same reason the Let's Play demo is so huge.
Men are lonely.
This is where "The Fellowship" aims it's content.
"Pull up a keyboard, and join us in shaming these people that hate us and made all of our heroes gay or pathetic soyboys."
This isn't going to change, they're growing in power and influence and as far as I can tell have a next to MUTED group of haters. FNT itself has evolved into holding 17k to 20k live viewers on the regular now. Just 6 months ago they were maxing out at 15k live viewers.
As more and more young guys find themselves disconnected from their physical social groups, they find a warm yellow glow from Nerdrotic's tribe and follow it to an online community that's vast and incredibly varied (I won't say diverse that's gay) in the cultures within that community. Everyone overlaps in the discords, everyone's a bro.
Because I send the most valuable $2 superchats on Youtube (my mutant superpower) some of their audience has began to bleed over into Bounding's audience simply by recognizing my screen name associated with BIC's postings.
This is why FNT is the powerhouse that they are, and will continue to grow on all fronts. They are friends, and I'm not being fluffy when I say that. They genuinely like one another and enjoy the company of that entire group together. Everyone found their niche. It's why there are so many passionate fans. Why they send so much superchat money.
Friendship. Is. Magic.
Are they all great paragons of society that have no intention of making money off of their friendliness? Fuck no. Jeremy at Geeks and Gamers is trying to stay unbiased about Dr Disrespect's return to gaming/streaming after being pretty hostile over the initial dust up.
Nerdrotic got called out by Mark Hamill's ex-daughter-in-law. That was over Mark Hamill asking this woman to abort her child that she had made with Hamill's son. Gary liked to use that as a sledgehammer on Mark, and I guess Grandpa Luke went and cried about it to the mother of his unwanted grandchild---and she directly called Nerdrotic out and asked him to stop mentioning it.
Az himself swims in allegions because he's flirtacious with his female guests and co-hosts, but no more so than the cashier at the grocery store would be. He's not up there with Ethan drooling over that skuzzy Sopranos slut on OnlyFans. But he's also not as careful as somebody like me would be given the environment he's in.
There was, for a while a bit of speculation that Nina Infinity got ejected from the Fellowship because she didn't play the flirty-flirt game with AZ. But I want to say that she admitted that wasn't real and that it was more about opinions on other content creators that got her kicked out. But that's just me trying to remember her 2nd or 3rd drunk stream about it. I think it was Rickieta that got her YEETED out of FNT, just like it got her YEETED out of Flash's circle.
So they swim in plenty of drama, this is just the stuff I've noticed between all the ther chaos I'm surfing. I'm sure there's more. But for now, they don't court the kind of controversy Comicsgate does, and everyday I see former CGers in Fellowship chats. Especially in Eric's comments and livestreams.
Ethan's crew could be kicking so much ass right now with livestreams about redrawing the Concord characters. Mike S Miller growing his channel doing that. They could sell Blacklight posters of their characters and mock the original designers. It's a massive topic that Comcisgate is TOTALLY unaware of because there's a Black man somewhere---and he's
doing things.
