There's loads of videos of him playing violin, he's actually good. Not a professional no but legit could be a busker or something.

I'm not sure if its a diff cut or my brains failing me, but I remember seeing Trisha spazzing out and all of a sudden Nick comes into frame, cracked me up when I first saw it.

The full video still makes me laugh though. They're both obviously playing a character to a degree but Trisha legit thinks her moves are sexy there and I'm pretty sure Nick is thinking both "wtf am I doing/what am I looking at" and "...this will go viral though, so I'll keep at it..."

He had a career, or the impressive beginnings of one. Impressive repertoire, great education. I think he got tired of the competitive nature of making a name for oneself on broadway and in the field in general. He didn't want to put in the grunt work required of performers. I get it, lots of highly qualified artists burn out early. They set their sights on broadway and don't really consider state/city orchestras or other options when they burn out on broadway.

Didn't he have a promising career until he went to NYC? He played in an orchestra and got decent gigs as a freelance wedding violinist. But then he left for the big city and suddenly it's not good enough, he was just one of a million other equally talented people all trying to land the same jobs he wanted.

But rather than go back home and continue along his less famous but still respectable career, he gave up on his music career entirely. I don't think it's so much that he burned out, more like threw a tantrum over not being handed the fame he wanted with little effort.

That's what I meant about being burned out on broadway. 1000 auditions, and not even an understudy to the understudy opportunity. I don't know any musicians with broadway dreams but know two highly educated musical theater types who were "obviously" going to make it on broadway. Like 90% of people trying to make it there, he spent a few years waiting tables before going back to school for social work or something, she sells wedding dresses. People burn out on the constant rejection and take their balls and go home. There are other places besides NYC with smaller pools of competition, but they don't care. I'm sure all those rejections do take a toll.

I think the orchestra and wedding gigs part was while he was still in college. I've only seen a handful of his videos, but one was story time about commuting to auditions in nyc while he was in college. He talks about being broke and having a sugar daddy who helped him with his travel. All the rejections, and how he would have been happy with some no-chance-of-being-on-stage understudy work, but didn't even manage to find that. So it seems like he did try for a while. I don't know if he finished school or decided to take time off to flit around latin america as a twink on wheels, and just never went back. Then when he landed an audience on yt, the immediate gratification of being a star in his own show was more alluring than the idea of going back to the audition thing.

You'd think he could have done both, I'm sure there's no shortage of professional violinist opportunities in orlando (I think that's where he was living). He's a compelling violinist to watch/listen to, even in that tricia paytas vid.

The YouTube algorithm is recommending "commentary" channels giving their takes on Nikocado.

"He's not a weight loss hero! Don't be fooled!"

No shit, Sherlock! lol. He basically Andy Kaufman'd a good portion of the internet with the persona. However, the several years of weight gain followed by the rapid weight loss, which is all "part of the act," is still batshit crazy. He is now literally telling the internet to its face that it's all an act to get views.

Sometimes, commentary channels are just so laughable. They give the most obvious commentary while acting like they are providing the internet with this revelation that nobody else has had or concluded to, lol.

"Look at this freakshow ... There's people out there who will do anything for views" is basically all that needs to be said about Nikocado Avocado.
