Is this just a way of saying Jew? I know a lot of “Ukrainian” Jews who were mostly Polish before the war in Ukraine.

It depends on when they emigrated to the US and from where. Some of my family came here in the 1910's right before WW1 from what was called Galicia back then. Their nationality was listed as Polish, but the area they moved from is in what is now Ukraine. That whole area was a clusterfuck for centuries.

The only thing Charles Leclerc did wrong when he tried to retake that half of Hispaniola for his brother-in-law Nappy, was that he failed. Yes. It's always just been income. I hate getting OT unless I hit a certain amount, cause I did the napkin math once and realized they take about 40% off the OT I make immediately, which IIRC is more of a chunk than the non-OT. It just wasn't worth it.

The degree to how hard you get fucked on OT taxes varies based on your normal tax bracket and how close you are to the next one up. How most employer withholding systems work is that they look at only the current check, the nice fat one with 20-30 hours of OT on it, and then ,when pulling out your taxes for THIS check, the system calculates the amount to withhold as though you are earning this amount every period, for the entire year.

And remember, the normal withholding rate on your base salary is already padded to start with. That's why you get a "refund" when you file your taxes, they are returning the money they stole from you and earned interest/income/kickbacks on for the last year.

And then they audit the shit out of you if you take advantage of the basic provisions of the law to legally reduce your total taxable income.
