So yeah California is going to hell. Tess can’t afford it anymore.
I'm guessing California going to hell is also related to why bowie is now in a catholic school. Public schools in progressive places like California are terrible. Classes full of kids that can't speak English, rowdy kids that can't be disciplined because it's too racist, low standards for learning, etc. Basically all the progressive stuff tess loves to shill for, probably had a negative effect on her kid so she went looking for a place with some sanity that isn't expensive like a private school.

Oh jeez there's more

Poor Rylee. I guarantee you he gets screenshots of this crap sent to him every day. His best move is to change his name, move to some hillbilly town that hasn’t been overtaken by coastal brainrot, and never speak his mother’s name again. He should get started in one of the trades, find himself a nice church girl, and settle down to live his best life.

Rylee, if you see this, change your name to Charlie so you're "Charles Hoven".
It means "Free man" + "Field".
As in "Keep a football field away from your mom."

Catholic schools in SoCal skew Hispanic TBH. Hispanics who work as accountants, work for the city, or just really good moms working 2-3 jobs to make it happen.

Jesus christ. Poor Bowie won't stand a chance with the middle school bullies when the time comes.
Catholic school is a really good choice for this kid for exactly this reason. While the parents WILL judge her, they will also make it a point not to do that in front of her kid. They will include her kid and give them a chance at being around normal people. They care enough to find a way to send their kid to a private Catholic school in a really expensive place, they're trying to raise polite, thoughtful kids who only bully others because of who they are not who their horrifying mom is.

That level of crass is unbelievable even by Hollywood z-list standards.
She was doing appearances at real department and makeup stores. She has really fucked up her career. Even in the 90s, plus-sized models could have decent careers. One of them had a makeover show on I think the E! Network. Tess also clearly thinks she's too good to take her remaining money, become an LPN and support her kid that way - it only takes a year. She can't suck it up and go to community college for a real job, she has to humiliate her whole family.

There are lines and lines of rvs parked all along the freeways and everywhere and homeless camps on all public properties like court houses, parks, hospitals, etc that they move in the day and sleep at in night and tons of permanent homeless camps all over by the freeways. Home burglaries are rampant, I woke up to a homeless meth head in my bedroom a month ago in a gated property. He just ran off thank god. Police have done nothing. Two homeowners got stabbed in home robberies last month in our city. So yeah California is going to hell. Tess can’t afford it anymore.

Back when I lived in SoCal, people said it would never get expensive like NYC. NYC was already so built up! Manhattan is an island - but there's plenty of room to spread out in LA! The high prices in CA right now still don't make sense to me, esp as so many people have been leaving the state since 2020. Prices where I am now were specifically inflated by California tech workers outbidding all the locals because they could work from home post-pandemic.

There's no quality of life there anymore even for rich people. As you said depolicing means the tweakers are out of control.

It's not even just that, there's so many regulations and then you have to do an environmental impact study to see if you'll be displacing any endangered animals and plants, thanks to CEQA, which the NIMBYs love to abuse because their mult-million dollar house that they bought in the 70s or 80s for barely a tenth of it's worth now might have its value lowered a bit if a duplex is built in the neighborhood.

They are correct in being scared of high density housing. If you see townhomes, apartments, duplexes being built in your neighborhood of sfh, prepare for cultural enriching.
I used to live in a sfh suburb that had townhomes built nearby. Land developer don't care that the infrastructure isn't built to support denser populations. This is often the case even in urban areas, which is why infrastructure sucks in cities. As soon as people moved in to the townhouses, roads which were usually clear had cars parked everyday except during work hours. Internet became slow and we experienced more power outages, etc. crime went up, everything from muggings to burglaries. Even gipsys started showing up.

Now a lot of neighborhoods in LA suffer from all those problems even without high density housing. But its probably the difference between waiting an extra 15 minute on your surface road commute to adding an extra hour and having traffic like in dtla

It’s true. Homeless illegal immigrants are living in my attic and I can hear them smoking crack up there all damn day. I’d call the police but they would arrest me for assuming the crackheads’ genders and sentence me to 99 years hard emotional labor in a prison run by trans women. I’m posting this very message from the tunnel under my house that I am digging to Idaho. When I finally get there, I’ll buy up all your available real estate with cash offers and inflate your local economy until you are priced out and forced to leave. Sorry folks. That’s California.

Duplexes are for the Wrong Sort.

Ninja’d by @sadrefrigerator but yeah. High density means it’s time for some good ole fashioned white flight.

Illegals know to go to Denver, not LA. CO is the state with the gullible gay governor, not CA.

I based my prior comment on having lived in LA County. And on everyone I still know in Santa Monica adding extra window locks after people were climbing across roofs and breaking into windows that way.

LA County resident detected: opinion discarded.

That's not my point in the least, I'm pointing out why it's so damn expensive to rent or own in California. Sometimes high density housing is going to be built and needs to be built, not everyone is at the point where they can buy a house, it's not like Tess even lives in a house either, she lives in a high rise apartment.
