>Highlightit would be super neat if we could presuade Josh to run a megamek server, and this thread could do a big multiplayer campaign.
Soon. Nah I doubt it unless Josh is a fan of Megamek, or Battletech for that matter.

I can't stand the Timber Wolf's design for one simple reason: what the fuck was the designer smoking when he came up with those arms? A lot of those classic mechs are great, others... Let's just say drugs might have been involved. The Summoner is just weird, ugly, and horribly off-balance like it was a FrankenMech, and the Naga in its earliest forms is... a box. And not even a particularly aesthetically pleasant box.The Timber Wolf is aesthetically a really good looking design on its own, almost certainly top 5 bare minimum for the whole series. What do you think of the Warhawk or Dire Wolf designs? Those both have the snout sort of thing going on as well similar to the three you listed, although both have that uncircumcised look going on.
I dabbled in it. Not a fan.I don't suppose anyone here plays Mechwarrior Living Legends?
Just curious if there is any level of community crossover
Can I ask why? feedback is always welcome.I dabbled in it. Not a fan.
Wait will the AI handle everything about this? Could I basically play it as something akin to Roguetech, only without needing a 2075 era Quantum Computer to run it?Megamek does that actually. Megamek HQ is a program that lets you run a campaign in any era you want.
Yes, MekHQ is more or less fully automated at this point, and Megamek has a very high quality AI named Princess that will control all your OpFor for you.Wait will the AI handle everything about this? Game is complete jank, weapons don't feel right, mech animations are jarring and its hard to even get players to play with unless your on in certain hours. Can I ask why? feedback is always welcome.
Not for a long time, was fun when I played and I really liked it but I don't think there's any overlap. MWO community is tiny and LL didn't have many players to begin with. Now it's even smaller so you'd have to wait for a "happy hour" for it to even be playable (checked the servers and unless they're missing some or I'm missing something, only one person is online). Much like @BlackDragoons said though, it's pretty old and unpolished even to this day, but I am a big fan of fun jank. I will say, both MWO and MWLL are inferior to a proper Mechwarrior game, strangely enough despite having no reason to as pretty much no one (except for the occasionally community get-together) they're still updating it.I don't suppose anyone here plays Mechwarrior Living Legends?

Nice, alright maybe I'll reinstall MWO but it that server shit keeps happening I'll never try it again.
"How many Ultra AC/2's are we slapping in this baby?"
"How many Ultra AC/2's are we slapping in this baby?"
"Yes."
"What about ammo?"
"Four tons. Any MechWarrior who complains about running dry should learn to aim."
One of the dumbest designs possible. At least the Bane 2 has a ridiculous fourteen tons of ammo for its mere four UAC/10's.
I have always homebrewed away permanent jams for UACs on the tabletop especially if RACs are around, it just doesn't make sense that someone would design a weapon that can jam that way.UACs are terrible though I guess they unjam in MWO (Don't know never played). Why would you want something that is heavier for a bit more range and can fire twice I guess if you want to risk jamming it for the entire battle. At least RAC can unjam.
In MWO they are actually decent as you can fire them as fast as you can click with UAC.UACs are terrible though I guess they unjam in MWO (Don't know never played). I disagree with that house rule as allowing UAC to unjam renders many other weapons useless. Unless the Unjam rolls is extremely high I think UACs unjamming would make them to powerful.I have always homebrewed away permanent jams for UACs on the tabletop especially if RACs are around, it just doesn't make sense that someone would design a weapon that can jam that way.
ACs were already made the least powerful weapon class in the game by the introduction of double heatsinks, the fucking things need all the help they can get.I disagree with that house rule as allowing UAC to unjam renders many other weapons useless.
