Sony hate thread

But I used to gladly sacrifice graphic settings for frames.
Every game looks good these days, so I just turn down the most performance-heavy options (that I mostly won't notice anyway) until I get an absolutely rock-solid frame rate. I can't remember the last time I thought "boy, running this game only at the 'medium' preset is really hurting my experience" - it was probably 20 years ago.

A lot of the hype around GTA6 is about the multiplayer and the consoomers don't want to buy an Xbox because it's seen as having a worse/dying/dead online population compared to the Playstation.
The strange thing is that anyone who took GTA Online seriously should see this as a benefit.

GTA Online is a hell hole if you're trying to do anything in it because most players are fucking griefing retards. To the point that people go out of their way to try and game the system into putting them into empty lobbies (at least before they made sales possible in invite only lobbies I think)

Of course people that don't care about GTA Online 2 or are planning on playing that component on PC are going to either wait for the PC release or just buy the cheap Series S.

I'm apprehensive about how much people are excited for GTAO2. Rockstar is (probably) going to ask people that spent 10 years and God knows how much on shark cards to flush it all down the toilet and start from square one. That's one hell of a hard sell.

The worst part of the graphical fidelity arms race is that we've completely lost style along the way. I'd rather look at stuff like this:

Than this

I don't give a shit if we can have hyper-realistic 8k foreskin textures with AI assisted ray tracing or whatever the gay new tech is. These new games are UGLY and being hi-fidelity doesn't make them less UGLY. A video of a turd in 16k with 300 FPS is still a video of a turd and a recording of a fart in 320kbps audio is still a recording of a fart
What's more is that theses games are expensive and demanding on hardware and not that accessible or affordable to people who have to make do with basic stuff.

I was able to play games like Hotline Miami and Katana Zero on my previous HP Spectre X360 laptop. Indies actually remember that style also means literally ANYONE can play their games and isn't locked out due to being broke.

Don't you ever underestimate the unbridled super power of absolute retardation when it comes to consoomers, especially of the console nigger variety. 2K players spend 100's of dollars every year single year on a game that gets shut down in 2 and pay for the privilege to do it all over again every 365 days. Rockstar drops a trailer for the new, improved rocket shooting flying motorcycle and you'll get people lining up to spend an entire paycheck on shark cards.

Found a soyny pony out in the wild telling you that the PS5 Pro is NOT THAT EXPENSIVE SO SHUT UP ABOUT IT
Basically this meme.

I've noticed that docking graphics down to medium doesn't tend to make them look worse, just different. Like everything is just differently stylized, not really worse.

Noticeably better graphics performance without PiSSeR according to this leaker/anonymous source, and about 1.2 GB of memory has been clawed back from the amount that was reserved for the operating system. That actually seems like a lot of optimization because I don't think the OS uses more than around 2 GB. I could see that being applied to the base PS5 with an update but there may be no reason to do it. PSSR uses 250 MB of RAM so at least that much needs to come from somewhere, since Sony didn't bother to increase the amount of RAM in the console.

I guess developers don't get a free boost to ~3.8 GHz without explicitly turning it on, but it has a negligible impact on GPU performance. So for the rare game that is bottlenecked by the CPU but running around 55 FPS, it could get to 60 instead. Amaaazing.

Isn't crossplay pretty common now?

yes, it fucking sucks but Rockstar usually delays the PC Port of their games for a year or so, they did it with GTA V and RDR 2, they always want to double dip off the PC Community
Ehhhh, I’ll probably buy a cheap ass Xbox second hand to play through the game. Will decide in 2026 when the game actually releases.

I'll play it on my 10 year old 3rd gen i5 based PC with a R9 200 series 4gb video card and 16gb of RAM without spending a penny further for it.

PC and console tech both have plateaued so hard that were just waiting for the crash and shakeout and next generation of completely different hardware to re-invigorate the industry like in 1985.
