Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

I've compared his attitude to "old man yells at cloud" in the past but seeing him lay it out so plainly like this is kind of fascinating. He doesn't care about making cities better or improving anyone's quality of life, hell even the nebulous goal of healing the planet is foregone. He just wants to piss people off that he doesn't like.

And this bitterness comes entirely from his complete and total failure when attempting to convince local governments to implement his batshit ideas and was rightfully told to kick rocks.

If he ever tried saying anything he's said online to an average American (or Canadian for that matter) we all know how it'd go.

If the question was "I'm doing this to piss people off" and "I'm doing this because I'm angry about things", then wouldn't the message matter more than whatever the profit he's getting?

Oh hey, Jay Foreman. Some of his stuff he's put out over the years has been interesting but he definitely qualifies as "proto-urbanist". Also gives off the vibes of "gets his anus rogered in the toilets at the local tube station".
In other words he still lives in major cities, enjoys luxuries, internet instead of countryside or forest cabin.

If cars bother the guy hates cars so much why does he live in a City and why he isn't riding a bike? The hypocrisy still baffles me.

Just thought to share this.
My Favourite part is where he points out Stevenage's Bike lanes are unused and then has to justify cars being bad because of 'space efficiency' not, you know anything that fucking matters to the people that live there lol.
The rest is the same strawman bullshit over and over mixed in with his usual 'london boroughs are crazy and make things difficult' that became a bit overplayed in previous videos.

Notice none of the 'benefits' ever seem to exist for non-yuppies, or generally worth it for someone who isn't an urbanist spastic xD

Jason admits he's just deliberately making rage-bait at this point:

Jason was two steps ahead all along? For a minute, I thought he was a snivelling coward who's only retconning his channel's mission now that his echo chamber has reached critical mass.

Cause he's coping, he wanted to blow up and make those youtuber sponsor $$, now that he's making paywalled content, his soy comes out and the palpable disdain for others starts to show. He can't help but be an unlikeable asshole, but he needs others to believe its some 10k iq plan like nikocado.

I suspect he'll change his story depending on what he's feeling at the time.

He just hates engines and loud noises because he's a relentless moronic pussy. That's why he complains about mopeds and not ebikes, when they are fundamentally identical.
I wonder what he'd make of a 600 cc motorbike, which is barely louder than a small petrol car (except at motorway speeds), but vastly more powerful due to the lower weight

It is:

1) Motorized
2) Private property

He would hate it if it were either one of those two things, let alone both.

On one hand the logic that "cars bad because private property therefore bikes bad too" is actually sound, on the other fuck that and death to commies.
You can also see the next urban/eco motte (bikes are bad because <insert individualistic reason>, everyone should be using communal transit!) from a mile from here lol

I want them to replace all their busses with those big bike carts that bars use.

(It would get nowhere because all the riders would be soibois or niggers, none of whom would pedal - expecting everyone else to do the work for them.)

Bikes are bad now
How many people do they expect to huddle into the footprint of a bicycle? Are people even allowed to walk without their shoulders touching in this pedestrian utopia? It's like civilization is nothing more than a sphere packing problem where 100% space utilization is the categorical imperative and the basic human need for space and security is secondary.

The constant slippery slope that has a logical endpoint of disallowing any form of personal transportation is going to be a wonderful thing to witness

On YouTube Jason has guidelines for his comment section to discourage people from making a comment.View attachment 6174522
Remember that time Jason wrote that post basically saying "don't bother commenting on my videos because it doesn't help me".

Well I was randomly browsing youtube when this channel was recommended to me and I browsed some of their videos. They seem to cover general youtube drama and what not; however I found it surprising that they mentioned NJB.

I don't usually see Jason mentioned in non-urbanism contexts so I thought it was interesting.

/r/fuckcars user wants all cars limited to 15 mph:
The speed is a non-issue for safety if all the vehicles are going a similar relative speed (i.e the Autobahn) which is why bicycles aren't allowed on the freeway. Of course though they'll complain when their toys take months to come to them from Amazon. Well maybe that's because limiting the delivery truck to 1/4 of it's speed will cause it to take four times as long.

Notice the only way they can make their ideas seem better by comparison is by forcing cars to be less effective. I suppose the same could be said of trains, where theoretically if the trains were capped at 15mph would there be less derailments?

I don't think any of them really consider how truck traffic works and it's one reason you can't just replace all truck traffic with rail terminals. Even if that was actually useful (that one in Oregon did no business), the reality is all the truck-to-rail terminals would become bottlenecks on their own. Here's a terminal in Pasadena, Texas that's a truck-to-boat terminal and the issues it causes when fully operational.
