I'd be interested to know if her Mom or a close family member was maybe munchie-adjacent or at least a hypochondriac during her formative years. I've seen this sort of thing run generationally - mostly with women - in these wealthy families, and it becomes A Thing.

The fact that her brother Trooned out too, is, beyond evidence of social contagion, a sign that these kids got weird fuckin messages from their parents about sickness and the human body and medicine and shit.

I know her parents aren't the Literal Hitlers that she paints them to be, but boy I wish they were the sort to have open Facebook pages we could peruse because they taught these kids these behaviors.

Edit to add: @Snack Cracker yeah that's another option - a sick relative who she saw get all the attention or maybe a mentally ill relative who everyone coddled (hence the trooning?) The psychology of her parents is almost as interesting as Vicky herself, in my book. Wish we knew more than just Vicky's interpretation of them.

I was the one who posted about Laura E Winn the Angriest Munchie who fought with OSU Hospital in Columbus Ohio, and she was born upper middle class and had a mom that died from prolonged cancer when she was young.

Both she and her sister are level 10 munchies.

I checked her out, that was quite a read. She could be the illustration for “insufferable” in some encyclopedia. One thing she didn’t have that Vicky has is the ambition to be “quirky alternative” with a lot of pop culture references & memes (that are incredibly lame). I find that feature in Vicky particularly amusing tbh.

Vicky’s mom is into woo, it’s up-thread somewhere. Those people rarely have a grounded sense of what medicine and doctors are intended for imo (and they usually mistrust the medical profession, too). They’re the ones who always want to find out the “root cause” of a mildly deranged lab test instead of just either treating it or just rolling with it. I guess she could have picked up something like that from home.

Yesterday, when she was très traumatized, she retweeted a bunch of her own tweets from 2021. There was a TikTok where she did a better job lip syncing than most folx (but it was still v stupid of course). I can’t download clips from Xitter, maybe someone else has the skills?

Somehow government financial aid isn't enough to live in luxury! This is an outrage. It turns out Vickie's student loans and grants are only going to cover most of her tuition and she won't be receiving a big check for living expenses!

Hope you didn't promise your new landlord that you'd be getting all that financial aid as soon as your appeal was done.
