One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

It’s like some of these people have no clue who this manga is originally targeted at.
Juvenile humor can be hilarious, but I think the people not having kids/ not having young children around really fucks with their ability to understand it.

I feel like a lot of Jap humor in manga comes from the fact that they find adults doing childish things hilarious. It is something pretty funny when a child says something that would be utterly inappropriate or an otherwise stoic adult asks a question like a child.

I’m over explaining the joke, but I feel like it’s just something I’ve noticed. People without children somehow pearl clutch harder than people with kids.

I’d also add that the Japanese probably don’t care for the power scaling/vs debates Westerners do at the drop of a hat. Nor are there folks who make a living just talking about their theories and speculations on the Internet, right?

A thought recently occurred to me: What if the Straw Hats need Laboon to take them to Laugh Tale?
i have a theory that laboon and zunesha will both be important towards the end maybe not for laugh tale but if the world floods they might show up and help in some way. i could totally see laboon showing up that way luffy does not have to go all the way back to visit him and brook can get his moment.

I said awhile back modern sensitivities have worsened the reception towards Thriller Bark in the YouTube community recently. Here’s some of the videos showing what I mean.
The 3rd and 5th ones really irritate me, specially when they go on moral tangents of how Things like brook’s character is so offensive and how sanji shouldn’t”t have reacted towards absalom like that. It’s also annoying how people use this arc as a scapegoat to say things are a waste of time when they constantly apologize for oda not working out something in the previous arcs. Cause they can’t fellate Moria And the content and Treat it like it’s gonna mean something special in 20 years. Spoiler it’s mostly a comedic- adventure.
I dont take or care about the opinions of faggots who didnt care about this series until it got popular on twitter. End of Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark were the parts happening when I actually discovered real none 4kids One Piece back in the days so it has a very special place in my cold heart. While I think Thriller Bark has some issues, overall its a great arc and Brock is a top tier character and every girl should show him their panties!!

Edit: Watched some of that Greene guys video and Christ, I 10000% believe his a male feminist predator type, no normal person should be that unhinged about tame as fuck jokes.

I never got the hate for Thriller Bark but I am a big GOD USOPP fan and love every single one of his fights in the manga. Dude easily has the best fights in the series.
Clearly we all hate it because of those horrible sexist jokes by that evil skeleton rapist Brock!!!! Seriously though idk where the hate comes from, maybe because it came right after Enies Lobby? I love the arc, especially after a rewatch and you take your time with it, plus its a island thats a whole fucking ship and its horror themed, how can anyone whose not a joyless retard hate it! On top of that think about all the lore that might be hiding there, I mean aren't a good number of Moira's zombies former Rocks crew members? How did he get a hold of the island? What the fuck was up with that huge shadowy figure at the end of the arc!!!??? Such a great arc man!

He’s a pretty cool dude. Rewatched Syrup Village recently and if anything, really felt a connection to the guy.

Also in case you didn’t know, One Piece is pretty wicked.

Skypiea was the arc that won me over to One Piece for good, but Thriller Bark became an instant favorite of mine. It's just an amalgamation of horror with some Oda twists, and I'm not even a horror fan to begin with. Was never going to go on with the scares, but it sure as hell was gothic. Also has my favorite non-Straw Hat, Perona's in my top five if not my all-time fav.

Absolute perfection.

I would not say that he is a predator (will not completely dismiss it within reason). He, like most people that got into One Piece after Merphy Napier, just copies her opinions with little deviation. That alone is enough for me to tune out. At least, Totally Not Mark was a manga fan since the old times that happened to not have given One Piece a chance yet (it happens, it can feel long, the artstyle is unusual etc etc).

I have noticed that there is a bit of a dislike for Merphy and Greene. What are the problems with them? Have they had any bad takes? I will say that being a complete normie book fan does change ones perspective alot.

Totally Not Mark is the most obnoxiously pretentious douche on youtube. His reviews are insufferable. Every one of his reviews is him crying because Goku punching Vegeta is somehow the greatest work of fiction mankind has ever produced.
