I can watch The Casting of Frank Stone without Phil playing Dora the Explorer, giving a book report on everything he's currently seeing, and begging for money.
This is the thing that always stands out to me when DSP is playing a game. His "commentary" isn't thoughtful or insightful. He usually doesn't know anything about the game he is playing beyond the surface level and has no thoughtful ideas about anything. It's the most base surface level just saying what he is seeing on the screen like his entire audience is blind.

He's both a fan and not a fan, according to today's podcast. I'm sure all the famous wrestlers dunking on him and the televised "DSP GET A JOB" signs take a lot of the fun out of it for him.

Just like he says is and is not DownFromTheRafters.

Whether Phail is or isn't interested in wrestling, the boys running this podcast are soon going to find out there's ZERO entertainment to be had from having DSP come on and do his usual rambling prestream monologue. He can't hold a conversation. He can't banter. He can't tell jokes or act like a normal guy. If they just let him talk freely, this will be a snoozefest.
He says he watched up until the Attitude Era. He skipped the attitude Era (which is insane considering that's when wwf was at its wackiest/funnest). He watched through whatever was after that and then lost interest I guess.

Like I've told people before, if you want DSP summarized in 1 video, go watch the VIRAL Fallout 4 in 4K part 1, He spends like an hour in the intro that normally takes 10 minutes cause he goes full fucking museum curator mode to waste everyone's time.

I’d actually argue he takes away from it.

He sucks at games, and quick to cry when something doesn’t go his way. So not entertaining there. He gets handheld enough by chat that he doesn’t suck so bad it’s funny. And the playthrough is a rip of a stream, so you’re getting tip callouts, on screen animations, yelling at chat, etc.

He doesn’t get that you need to have different content for different purposes. If you want your playthroughs to be YouTube videos you probably have to record without OBS crap on the screen and also not get derailed. If you don’t want to do that you should probably get an editor to make your videos more appealing and digestible. Fuck offer to pay a detractor to edit down funny clips.

His shit is so low effort that demanding money for it is a crime.

I actually feel like this is one of the least mentioned parts of how DSP is not appealing as a streamer(or person). I seriously think he has the worst voice I have ever heard. The combo of every negative you can have in a voice and way of speaking combined into the most annoying, gay, nasally voice I've ever heard. I don't know maybe I just think that cause he's so annoying that I associate his voice with it but it's horrible. As LTG said "his voice box never deepened".
Which is why I knew Mike Clum was unsound, one of the first things he said about DSP was how "wonderful" his voice was.

The gimmick has worn off and Phil's WWE Champ streams are back to pre Kino numbers if not lower.

To piggyback on this, frequently his commentary is just comparing things to other games, or movies or shows etc. "Oh, this game is basically Dark Souls" etc. No meaningful insight, just dot connecting

So I am confused... is resident coffee cuck using KF user names as tip message names to be funny, or are there actual KF users dumb enough to throw non-troll money at Phil?

Wouldn't surprise me if he or one of the many tourists/KC fanboys were doing it specifically to try and get a rise out of this thread.

His commentary has only slightly gotten better than his strategy of creating visual descriptions for the blind.

"I would never drop my real money on shit like that, that's nuts." Nigga, if the tips and superchats aren't your 'real' money, then what is? The money that one dent give you to watch K-POP?

Spouting off the ways gacha games manipulate people, sunken cost fallacy this, diminishing returns that... Doesn't give the ""cautionary tale"" much of an impact when people know you still secretly spend despite knowing all of this prattle, does it now? :lossmanjack:

"I would never drop my real money on shit like that, that's nuts."
This dude just can't stop lying. Per his own admission, he did this for years (until he fake-sold the account).

But hey, just throw it out there, King. Your dented subjects are liable to take you word for it.

edit: Oh and what is it with this retarded Cultaholics podcast appearance on Wednesday. What in the holy hell does DarksydePhil have to contribute to a WWE podcast. According to his own story, he hasn't watched WWE in years. He isn't even a prominent content creator for wrestling stuff. Are they just interviewing random fans? Or is it gonna be about his expert gacha insights?

So where did the boost from tonight come from? +600 is nuts even for WWE Champions streams, not even special events do this well and from what I saw today there were a lot of tips. Unless this new merge of tips and superchats has finally made it clear how much Phil makes off those, it had to come from somewhere, right? Did KC tweet about Phil or something?

Looks like PPP retweeted him. Tbh the King thing has run its course and at this point PPP and Andy are running the "joke" into the ground. Unless they have something else spectacular planned I think it's long past the time to draw the curtains on this arc.
