The absolute stark contrast between the lively song lyrics and Luna: 'These are the good days, these are the good nights, doin' our best and livin' our best lives. These are the ones where we'll look back, and say 'Damn, what a damn good time!'

And she lays unaware of her own existence, eyes darting back and forth blankly, tongue out at times, lips smacking w/ seizure activity in the long nothingness that is her world. I just....phew....
Not to mention the baby flailing around on top of her broken femur... thank (insert your god here) she is unable to process pain!

It looks like he’s imitating someone, perhaps Robyn. I agree, it doesn’t look like he’s actually talking to Oak.
Same. I have a kid his age. My child can talk in complete sentences, talk to others and be understood. I definitely think he has some speech issues idc what anyone says. I have been concerned about Atlas and his speech for a long time. There is more to speech issues then just autism.

This! I don't think he's autistic, as the only symptom I see is his speech delay, and yep, lots of other causes. My money is on nerve damage from his cray-cray mother getting his tongue cut by a fucking chiropractor when he was like a week old.
I went back over the last 20+ pages because i cant remember if i ever even heard Atlas speak. Any video of atlas is either a boomerang video with music or muted, a few videos sounded like him in the back but its never words its grunting or similar noises. Has anyone actually heard him speak??

I think he said some approximation of "Hi" in a video but I could be mixing this up with little Jacaranda who Robyn was saying hi to in a recent video.

He has never, to my knowledge, used a real, intelligible word on this thread.

She posted something today that clearly shows Atlas having a conversation with Oaken and others in the room. Considering she specifically won't allow us to hear him speak feels like support that she wants to prove he can speak, but not show that he has a speech impediement due to her choices.

When he turns to stand up it almost looks like he is having Tourette’s tics (family member ticked similarly)

No sound either he could just be babbling.

If he could actually talk I cant see robyn not abusing it for views.

Today in a few story clips atlas was sort of cooing. Sounded like baby talk tbh. He sounded like he said "I help" while making tortillas. He did follow directions and make a tortilla like a pro. When he was standing in front of the stove he mimicked the sound of the vitamix. Strange for a kid his age. Motor skills great. Speech? Maybe not so much? Didn't post vids because Syo will do it. BTW Robyn's food looks nauseating.

Cant wait to see it.

Are there leaps in technology for mutilated tongues?

Not being catty, I'm seriously asking. I'd never even heard of tongue tie or fucking tongue snipping before this horrible thread. It's on par with foot binding to me-- it seems utterly pointless and barbaric. I imagine it's supposed to be done on babies who can't latch on ANY nipple, including bottles? Or...?

Does it cause problems with speech because it's painful? Or because he's lost some nerve sensation in the tongue? Or is it no worse than a stutter or lisp in terms of speech therapy/working around it?

Making it painful or fearful for a child to speak is heartbreaking to me. I know Robyn had the "best intentions" but look how well that's gone every other time.

I have no thoughts on whether Atlas is autistic or not, and even experts can't diagnose over some heavily curated-by-mom videos. The clipped tongue seems like a more logical explanation than autism, even if he does have mild autism.
Well, one thing a pediatric neurologist would bother to do is thoroughly examine his mouth (for a few reasons). If something is jacked up, mouths and tongues heal amazingly well. An oral surgery consult would be on the table, and if it was something like a badly mangled tongue from snipping, I am not an oral surgeon, but I would bet dollars to donuts oral surgeons both could fix it, and wouldn't judge them for a foolish attempt to try to help their son.

I had a regular dental appointment and the dentist hit my lingual nerve. It was like a shock then my tongue went dead. Only half. One side of my tongue was numb for a full year. Couldn’t taste either. They said it might not ever come back but it did. I slurred for a couple days but already being able to speak, I adjusted quickly.

Atlas once said “yeah” on a walk on a path way ahead of his mom. It wasn’t clear, but he said it. He does make noise as we’ve heard him scream a few times. Not making truck or train sounds though, just screaming. I don’t remember him babbling like Woody is doing now but long before she would have considered a speech problem she got into those dumb boomerangs.

I’m looking forward to hearing if he is saying words. Even if he’s very delayed, the fact that he can communicate would be good.

(FYI: Head on down to The Situation to vote for Halloween merch. Null is remembering females and will order women’s cut tees if anybody wants them. He has to have a hundred votes to order them. There is also a Viking zippered hoodie for the first time. Vote in the poll to let him know what you want, sale shoukd start early Oct. )

As always, thanks @GenociderSyo for doing the work so we don’t have to suffer through Globynn’s SM.

So obvious she reads here and so sad that’s the best she can come up with to prove Atlas verbalizes. Along w/everyone else I’m concerned about him - he seems smart as a whip but a) is obv WAY behind on speech milestones with b) a momma who won’t acknowledge the problem much less take advantage of available help.

Gotta love the kids in PJs for the only out-of-house activity they get. I’m not typically one to judge kids in jammies but when that is practically the only time they leave the confines of home, seems like it’d be a good excuse to at least get Atlas dressed in street clothes.

Another nightmare story to think about during my annual dentist appointment. Someone close to me was left with permanent trigeminal neuralgia from a root canal.

I have a much worse one, but I’ll spare you.

I don’t know why a child heading into 4 needs to sit in a stroller chair either. Also, where’s the dog? Did they get rid of it?

I’ll give her the benefit and assume they are taking a long walk to a park and it’s easier to push Atlas home after playing. Although he could be riding a bike alongside her. I hope they at least are going to a park where he can run and play, but in his PJs? He should be getting dressed by himself every morning. Breakfast, clothes, teeth. All things a 3 year old can do.

I hope that kid is at least out of diapers. She doesn’t seem to understand what the job of a mother is. And none of those squeals that were cut off after 3 seconds convinced me Atlas has speech.

Sigh. I really worry for that kid.

Yeah it looks like all he said was "I help" at 3 and a half he should be speaking way better. He seems to grunt yell or say 1 to 2 words. At almost 4 he should be saying around 5 word sentences like "I want to help you" not I help. He can speak but definitely delayed. Id be asking for speech therapy.
As my kids Speech Therapist said "It doesn't matter what their diagnosis is or even if they have one, getting help with speech early is aabsolutely essential! Once that speech window has closed, there's no going back to try again"
