Speaking of the boycott bullshit, my family's small business ran commercials on the local conservative talk radio channel about a decade ago. A few days after they started airing our ward's city councilman came blustering in (first time he had ever stopped by, btw) and started giving us thinly veiled threats about boycotts because according to him the morning show was being critical of his positions and he was "disappointed" that we were supporting the station. My parents are largely apolitical, we just decided to advertise there because it was the most popular station in the area. My dad folded and we pulled the ads which on one hand pissed me off but on the other I get where he was coming from because there's enough headaches running a small business and you have to pick your battles.

I still think about that A LOT. I don't think he said anything that overtly qualified as intimidation from a legal standpoint, but what a piece of shit.

Watching the Oklahoma/Auburn game and saw a Kamala commercial comparing her "middle class" roots to Trump's elitism. LOL. First thing mentioned is her working at McDonald's (I think she even says this, I wasn't paying that much attention at first). Guess this is why she's doubling down on the McD thing, she's already bought the commercial time.

But it sound more likely to me that the company didn't like the Kamala visit and forbade their franchisees from using their locations for political purposes. They then find out about the JD visit on TV, and phone the Franchise to tell them they cant do it. But that would be even dumber, because why not just wait until after Vance's visit so each candidate is given an equal chance and then announce no more politics? Also, they had to clear the restaurant for Kamala to appear. How does that slip under the radar? Edit: I'm not saying you're dumb and I see where you're coming from. This is just such grossly blatant partisanship, though.

An RFK/Tulsi MAGA event going on right now, but it's hosted by Zachary Levi, aka Shazam/Chuck. He's always been low key conservative from what I've seen when talks, he's always been vocal about his faith, but I guess he's accepted he'll never be in anything but Angel Studios stuff in the future so just ripped the mask off, similar to his co-star Adam Baldwin basically being blacklisted for the past 10 years. I'm just waiting for his other Chuck co-star Yvonne Strahovski to disavow him even though she seems to not be a reee-ing celebrity, or for new Me Too shit to magically appear.

I have not watched this in particular but I have watched RFK's stuff on food.

Why do cigarettes have massive warnings on them but you can buy a meal from McDonald's with three days worth of sodium and sugar in it with no warning?

Why was there a huge GMO ruckus but foods that contain poisonous dyes, unhealthy amounts of carbs, and frankly toxic amounts of sugar and sodium are allowed to be passed off as lower sodium or just ignored as the shit that they are?

I really hope the genie that is being let out is impossible for the DNC to put back in because they are the party of poverty, the party of pestilence, and the party of plague.

Oh also the old guard GOP and most of the younger generation are monsters too because they are all in on this shit.

I mean, they are doing what they need to do. Should not be surprising to Trump & Co. I do find it funny that it has to be at least ONE machine. Just do what you do to your little brother with videogames; hand them an unplugged controller for the voting machine and tell them "Yeah, you are totally voooting!".

How does it slip under the radar? Simple, you keep it a secret and the company finds out when the news is reporting on it.
I'm only speculating it was non-partisan since I thought "no political campaigning" is a pretty common part of franchise contracts. Imagine a rouge Franchisee who supports Kamala had just pulled a fast one over a (speculative) "no campaingning" rule the company put in place, they would definately be on high alert to keep their franchises in line and prevent it from happening again.

It's not in any way. If the federal gov't can't step up for natural disasters impacting a large swath of the population then what's the point of having a federal gov't in the first place? That's literally the only reason it should exist.
