Hitler wasn't any worse than Roosevelt/Truman IMO. The US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima/Nagasaki(the only country in history to ever to use an atom bomb, and on a civilian population nonetheless), after being attacked at Pearl Harbour, which in turn was a response to the US essentially cutting off Oil Supply for Japan, which they considered an act of war. America has regularly interfered with foreign politics, such as the CIA operation to kill the leader of Iran in the 50's, as well as many others.

After the US became involved in WWII, they threw all Japanese and Asian looking nationals into internment camps. And I'm pretty sure that if Japan had beaten America, you'd be sitting here reading about how America was systematically wiping out Japanese and Asians by the millions in death camps, the winners write the history after all.

The more likely scenario for the Holocaust is that Germany rounded up Jews and other political Prisoners in internment camps, similarly to the Americans and the Japanese, and as the war stretched on, and after losing multiple fronts, the Internment camps were undersupplied and people simply started starving to death. But these days, even suggesting Nazi Germany was anything but the literal Army of Hell called forth by Satan, is enough to get you branded a bigot.

Even so, I think its healthly to be skeptical. For example, Nazi Germany invaded the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Greece, Norway and Western Poland. During the war they had trouble maintaining and producing tanks due to the supply lines and factories being bombed by the allies. And yet they had the resources and the manpower to run multiple camps in multiple countries with gas chambers capable of gassing tens of people at a time, with a system to vent the gas so the bodies could be collected for a furnace system they had also built at each camp, of which the smoke from the furnace may also be poisonous itself. This allowing them to execute 6,000,000 people over the course of several years. Whilst fighting the Allies on multiple fronts, even though their own tanks were breaking down due to lack of supplies.

It just doesn't make logistical sense to me at all. I'm sure you can just hand-wave it away and say "But they were just EVIL" it really doesn't answer the questions though.

you can find, with a minimum of searching online, official reports between nazi officers where they compare experiments on mass murder- particularly their disappointment that x ray turned out not be an efficient means of mass execution.
