From what I've been told, they believe the hacking was done after the election. The RNC and the DNC were hacked, while the DNC was leaked.

They're worried the info will be used for blackmailing, etc.

It's a serious infosec risk and it kind of makes me worry.

So the hacking didn't influence the election then.

The only reason people have their panties in a twist about all of this is because it's not being controlled or benefiting certain parties. The US has admittedly and willfully interfered in Russian politics before (many times, that's just an example), the CIA is a known lie factory (WMD for example) & aren't even the top intelligence agency anymore. The information risk is no higher than usual, on either side, it's just that it's being reported on by the MSM with such furore as a means to an end. They are whipping or trying to whip up the public into a reactionary frenzy to restore what they see as the "correct order of things" - ie leftist politics being the one and only norm.

Look at how people treat black people who have an opinion that is different from the herd. Look at how anyone who questions official narratives gets tarred as a crackpot conspiracy theorist.
People get charged on a small scale with conspiracy everyday and no one bats an eyelid, but when suggesting that an institution does it, it's "INSANE"...except when an institution suggests it. IMAGINE if conservatives said that the Russians hacked the election outcome. They'd get called crackpots.
When someone with sacred cow status like the MSM or the CIA completely control the narrative, are unquestionable and use something that happens all the time anyway to their own advantage, that's a bigger risk to national and personal security than cherry picked information leaks or impossible vote hacks. The CIA is out-salting everyone.

Oh no! The minorities! They're thinking for themselves! Racist! RAAAAACIIIIIIST!

Funny you mention the conspiracy theorist thing, my own family is plagued with uber-progressives and they pretty much do exactly what you are saying to anyone who doesn't agree with them. I risk being disowned if I were to let loose my real opinions on things.

There is no love lost between myself and Donald Trump, but my God, the reaction to him being chosen is just...well, entertaining, to say the least. :)

Four days left until the Electoral College swears in our new God-Emperor :trump:

Personally, I would think the endless spamming of angry phone calls and desperate pleas will make the electors more inclined to vote Trump in, not less. Also, a presidential election being determined by faithless electors would be unprecedented in history, it's never happened before.

Whatever happens, the meltdowns are going to be hilarious :story:

I think this should be said regarding the electoral college, a lot of the criticism comes from the fact that it takes voting power away from the people and concentrates it into a select few. That actually makes the United States on par with the Russian federation as they are an oligarchy, the electoral college makes the US an oligarchy as well.

Imagine if the EC says fuck it and picks Pence.

I work in the media, in another country mind you, and they're still bedwetting over the possibility of Trump being Earth Overlord. These people are journalists whom people look to for unbiased reporting of the news and they can't fact find to save their lives, specifically when it doesn't confirm their bias. They preach inclusion and consideration towards minorities, but if a minority has a positive opinion towards Trump, suddenly they're stupid, misguided, must not understand, wanting to capitulate to invisible forces or stuck in the ways of their ancestral countries. I commented that I like Trump because he's a man, not a neo-beta cuck and I was informed that I have residual patriarchal issues or a Daddy issue. The fact that most free countries in the Asia-Pacific are conservative lead, some even have female leaders and are doing gangbusters, is totally lost on people who can't blame Whitey for fucking with their perceived view of what's good. Some print journalists I know actually, genuinely believe that Hillary or at least Bernie have a chance of becoming president if the "electoral college steps up and does the right thing" - laughably citing "for the sake of democracy" as the reason. They seem to wrongly equate democracy with getting their own way.

Well no, the electoral college can't effectively vote however they wish. They're frequently bound by statute to vote properly and even when they aren't, politically, it's not really feasible for them to fuck around at a large enough scale to do anything.

Now, I don't like the electoral college because it waters down "one man, one vote". But that's another issue.

Yeah, compared to other intelligence agencies of the US, the CIA has a pretty bad rap, especially within the past 20 years for all their fuck ups, including as mentioned previously, the WMD bullshit. Waterboarding and other forms of torture and all their black site bullshit doesn't help, either.

Some pissant in the CIA is pissy Trump won and is trying to say Russia/Putin hacked stuff to try to discredit the vote. You know, when they thought Hillary was a shoe-in, everyone didn't think the vote could be hacked at all. Interesting, the sudden 180... :P

The founding fathers had good reason to include the electoral college as part of the process, but that reason is often misunderstood.

"Look at how people treat black people who have an opinion that is different from the herd." I'm not sure there's much of a herd mind left. But I know Tommy Sotomayor gets death threats. His unabashed joy at Trump's election is hilarious.

You're right, Kurt. No one is fooled by your incessant rambling about all these people you know: nut up or shut up.
I just want Jeb(!) *sigh*
Please clap vote.
Edit: Holy crap Eichenwald had a meltdown!
Apparently he didn't get the feedback he wanted from that interview so he went on a multi-tweet rant. He later deleted it, but Twitter user John Rust managed to save some of madness.

I wonder why, was it the very overt threat towards Russian personnel she issued when she said she wanted the US to enforce a no-fly zone over Syria?

I mean, in the end Putin's still a bit of a bastard but at least he's a blunt one.

I really, and in all honestly, won't be surprised if, 60 years from now (if these conspiracies were true) we find out it was several intelligence agencies, both foreign and domestic that ensured Clinton wouldn't win, and they intervened to stop the ballot stuffing and fake votes they'd blatantly been conducting with Wayne County being the only one they missed.

REEEE IVAN HACKED THE RNC BUT KEPT IT ALL TO BLACKMAIL THEM AFTER THEY INSURED A TRUMP WIN REEEEEEE

meanwhile, in the real world, the RNC also received those "reset your password" emails but are not retards so they didn't open them and didn't get hacked at all lol

The whole CIA analysis was a "thin reed" based on the fact that RNC shit wasn't leaked. It wasn't leaked because it wasn't hacked in the first place.
