Honestly it would be a really good thing to have something like this not ruined by the same insufferable politics sperging that the entire rest of the US is going under right now.

The whole code of conduct concept was just a wedge to insinuate nontechnical morons into positions of power they would otherwise not be able to touch. Its smart because they are taking advantage of the fact that software engineers are generally low testosterone cowards.

They can respond to a mildly rude email with 'wow man you have anger management issues take a chill pill you are scaring people away its going to kill the project' and it will actually work, its quite shocking.

That's the frustrating thing. On the original, if you said something disagreeable you might be muted on Miiverse itself for a few days, but with the replacement servers you can catch a console UID perma across all services if you happen to tell a joke a janitor doesn't find funny. It completely goes against the goal of a software preservation project.
