I dunno much of what he's been up to, but damn sad to hear this year has been kicking his ass front to back. Hope for the best for him and his future :(
He was mostly working on Scooby Doo direct to DVD movies after B&M, though his recent financial situation was caused by him being let go from The Patrick Star Show.

And you know what? It fucking deserves it. Just got back from seeing it. Dreamworks' best film ever? No, Prince of Egypt is more timeless. But I am happy to report that it is a very close second, and certainly Chris Sanders' magnum opus. It's a mixture between Iron Giant, Brother Bear, and WALL-E, but it unashamedly feels like its own unique beast (no pun intended). Dialogue is natural and timeless, there are actually quite a few dark moments, and the visuals, sweet tap dancing Christ, the visuals are pure eye sex. 9/10. Dead fucking serious.
I completely lost all intrest in this movie when I found out the animals were going to be talking. You're telling me its not garbage?

Yes, the animals talk, but for the most part, it's timeless. It's not Brother Bear levels of trying to apply modern slang to the way these animals talk.

Does anyone miss this character style in cartoons?

I don't know why, but I really like it. Maybe it's nostalgia for Curious George. This is like the evolution of the character artstyle in serious 80s cartoons, but with less detail and less QUALITY. Sadly, you don't get to see it much anymore because now all characters are either anime, CGI plastic, or CalArts blobs, and sadly, the only good shows I've been able to find that use this artstyle are Curious George and Stargate Infinity.

Welcome to syndication, baby, crank out 65 new ones, tack the first three batches on and milk that rerun money for a few years.
This was what constituted weekday cartoons for decades and separated the "Saturday Morning" group.

Downer news, but apparently Maxwell Atoms is broke and is selling production material from Billy & Mandy is anyone is interested:
Damn, if I had a few hundred bucks lying around I'd really consider snagging a few cell art of B&M. Shit was me and my dad's jam. Sad to hear he's out of work.
