RIP Thread

Ten years ago, my grandfather was diagnosed with fourth-stage pancreatic cancer following a yearly physical. He'd gone from perfectly healthy to terminal in between checkups. He wouldn't live to see the end of the year.

RIP, Gramps. I was just getting old enough to appreciate who you were as a person and wish I could have known you as an adult. We could have been great friends.

My grandmother passed this morning. Her 74th birthday was just last week. She had stage 4 lung cancer, so I can't say it's a huge shock or anything, I'm just glad I was able to get into town Saturday and see her one last time before shit starting going critical. From what I'm understanding, her lungs kept intermittently giving out and after the last time it happened, she told the doctors not to resuscitate her if she stopped breathing again. This morning her lungs gave out again and...well, that was that.

Communist scumbag, leftie fuck, bane of London's commuters, whatever you called him, you can't deny he stood up for what he believed in, no matter what.

Rest in peace David Brockie (Oderus Urungus) of GWAR.

Came here to post this. I'm really super bummed. GWAR is one of my favorite bands and Brockie had a pretty impressive singing style. I saw them in concert in '07 at Myrtle Beach and had a blast.

It sucks knowing that I'll never get to see Oderus Urungus again. :(

I played "The March of the Faggot Soldiers" on my stereo yesterday when I heard the news in his honor.
