Hurricane Helene / Invest 97L

So, if we ignore all the Americans who already live in NC.... Is our government planning to dump a bunch of immigrants in a mud pit with bodies in trees, or are they gonna clean the place up first?
Just seems rude to put them in somewhere that just got smooshed by a hurricane.
What if the area is haunted now?

What’re you talking about? Haitians are used to shithole conditions. They’ll feel right at home next to all the dead starved people in their new homes!

I think most of the houses are okay in the disaster area. The issue is they are all cut off by washed out roads and downed trees. There is significant devastation along the creek banks for sure, but that constitutes a fraction of the total population over all. So the idea of a sudden "mass replacement" is a bit hysterical. Yes lots of people died and lost property, but this isn't an apocalypse level event. It just looks that way right now due to the enormous effort that is going to be required to restore road and electrical service to the area.

With respect to the "interferance"by government agencies with private relief, this can easily be explained by simple beaurocratic chicanery rather then outright malice. Government agencies hate people stepping on their toes. Especially without permission. It's a threat to their jobs and funding so the reflex response to anything encroaching is to try and mitigate or take control of it. This is normal behavior and nothing new for this specific incident t.

I would also hold fire on the idea the Feds are about the "White Genocide" the mountains for now. Congress is planning an emergency session to appropriate funding for reconstruction projects. I would wait and see what comes from that first.

I’m not trying to be condescending or an asshole, but have you physically been to a lot of the most effected areas?

I don't think it's remotely possible to significantly effect the formation of a hurricane covertly, maybe if you threw subtlety out the window and started dropping nuclear weapons you could heat up enough of the ocean's surface to intentionally cause rapid intensification but I don't think anything like cloud seeding or IR (((space lasers))) is going to do enough.

The technology is from the 1960s and involves microwaves directed at the cloud formation to increase its temperature slowly over days.

No, but again. At the end of day as bad as it is hundreds dead =/ the end of everything. It's bad, but you all are starting to hype this up like a society ruining events like this was a Mongol invasion and thousands of skulls are piled up in Pyramids.

The Government can step in to get things sorted out over time. But this does take time. It's premature to pre-judge things in the first week. Throw some rainbows my way, but I am hoping for a good rebuilding rather then the whole place being abandoned.

I run a small niche business and order all my supplies from another small (but much bigger than mine) niche supplier located where the worst of the flooding hit. Found out their shop and warehouse flooded over the roof. They happen to supply a huge chunk of this particular niche business industry's raw materials. They do have one other store front in another state with a small warehouse, but they just lost a massive chunk of inventory and the nearly the entirety of their operations. I am loyal to this particular business- I love them and they make absolutely top notch supplies and generally do great things for our community. The scale of devastation for this industry because of this one supplier wiped out is hard to describe. This will ripple across the country for this particular industry. iykyk, please don't dox though. Hit me up if you do know lmao

My friend, when they report the amount of people “missing”, I suppose you will be surprised.

this may sound crazy. but hear me out here. are we sure the government didn't use black ops weather technology to force the hurricane to travel to the area they had prepared for mass resettlement just months before? like, 100% sure?
Very unlikely but not impossible. I know cloud seeding is a thing that increases moisture/precipitation (which conspiracy theorists call "weather manipulation", which is kinda accurate), so it's entirely possible they could've done that, but the meteorological conditions present across the US, among other factors, actually explain fairly well why Helene was the way it was.

Other articles covering it, Biden-Harris Admin Used FEMA Disaster Funding For Illegal Immigrants

Mayorkas: "FEMA does not have the funds to make it through" hurricane season. Now come see how much FEMA spent helping illegal immigrants.

Reading articles about how a disaster relief fund got repurposed/embezzled to be in the service of illegal immigrants is absolutely fucked up.

Appalachia been haunted and overrun with cryptids since before whitey even got there.

I have been informed we will not be going to the mountains for the time being. I do not know if the "we" refers to the agency, or just my little sub-region. No reason has been given from the higher ups, and I've heard conflicting reasons as to why and what's going on from my co-workers. Like I said earlier, I hope the actual emergency response teams have a better handle on things than we do, so far this week we've gone from get everything ready because we might be heading west today, to now we're sending no one up but we might at some point.

I half think the feds are intentionally fucking this up to keep whiter rural areas from being able to vote to ensure Kamala gets NC.
Asheville itself is extremely blue - it's like a smaller Portland. The impacted rural areas around Asheville and on the TN side are all very red, but population-wise this affected a huge amount of people that likely planned to vote for Harris.

If the feds really are trying to fuck this up so that people in the disaster area are less able to vote, I feel like it won't make much of a difference in the end because of that.

False. The amount effected would have mostly voted red. Asheville WAS a liberal oasis in a red mountain. Not sure if you’re uninformed or retarded or willfully ignorant, if not a combination.
