I have no idea what level do elementary school kids have, but keep in mind the JLPT doesn't evaluate speaking or writing, and the N2 exam, from what I've seen on a quick search, only requires knowing how to READ, not write, around 1000 kanji. I don't know how complex the language used in the reading and speaking parts are, but yeah, I can see an elementary school child easily beating any foreigner with an N2 certificate. For some reason I thought it was harder.I heard that N2 is basically the same level as native Japanese elementary school kids or maybe even worse.
Achieving N2 level is an achievement for any foreigner and I don't want to take away their time and effort spent but let's be real, a 10 year old kid is still better than you without even trying.
Chibi's setting a really fucking low goal for himself, I guess he wants to take on higher levels later? Let's see how long it takes him to get there. Of all of his fleeting passions, the japanophilia seems to be lasting the most. But will it survive having to memorize thousands of kanjis, sometimes with multiple readings each?
