it's not really fair to call Hamill a "VA" (when he's starred in huge movies).

He's a far better VA than screen actor. IMHO he didn't add anything to Starwars unlike Harrison Ford or James Earl Jones iconic performances.

In comparison, the Joker is consistently excellent.

To be fair, when i took my kid to see it, all the other kids did not give a fuck or know who played the voices of the characters.
The intended audience does not know who Jack Black is. All they remember is the Peaches song and how it was funny. You have to be a MovieBob level sperg to get bent out of shape over a dumb kids film.

Typecasting isn't anything new, and if anything, it's only a matter of time that games will try to do nods at her, like they do with Steve Blum or Nolan North.

Ubisoft having a monopoly over the Canadian tax breaks and entertainment sphere is why so many have attempted to set-up shop in places like Toronto the past decade. Even CD Projekt RED wants that yummy government money. So why does this matter? I firmly believe that this will turn into a bidding war for Ubisoft, but not from the parties we expect. I don't see Microsoft or Embracer here. I expect EA, Amazon, Tencent and the Saudi's to all aggressively pursue this. Each would have something to gain. It's more than IP ownership, it's status and influence for sale here.

Eh you aren't really looking at the bigger picture I am trying to frame.

- Having previously owned a stake in Ubisoft, EA would no longer be the second largest developer in the country and be able to control a great deal of the creative output coming from Canada, atop of abuse the grants tenfold. EA's entire sports line-up (bar F1) is produced in Canada. Bioware is in Canada. Live service Skate is also being developed mostly in Canada. Respawn is the only studio outside of the region owned by EA that is still pulling a profit. Even DICE is seeing parts of it's production cycle moved out of Sweden and abroad.

- Amazon as of current lack a flagship studio or IP for anyone to actively care about it's gaming division. Buying Ubisoft completely changes the picture and scope of what they can achieve for the platform. The sheer amount of IP's they can turn into prime exclusive content, movie projects, kids animations etc. You go from a vanity idea with the Luna cloud to now having instantly obtained the entire Microsoft cloud output for the next five years (as purchased during the Microsoft / Activision merger court case) atop of the every Ubisoft title. Just Dance via Luna? $10 to stream via the Fire Stick? You've got just made millions this Christmas season.

- Tencent can fire all the French Canadians and replace them with all the Chinese currently living in Canada. I have no major take on this one to be honest, they've been investing into just about everyone at this point. I'd say they are similar to the Saudi's in that they want to find a method to redirect money when gas and oil finally diminishes in value. Plus it's yet another foothold in the Western space that they otherwise wouldn't have been able to achieve alone.

I'll take your word for it that she's mostly quiet or sensible when it comes to politics on social media.

But unfortunately for her, there is such a thing as overexposure, even if it's not her fault. It doesn't matter whether she's a female Black progressive or a 10/10 White Nordic Goddess, I don't want to see her face absolutely everywhere in every game (independent of the uglification face-scanning issue). Unironically, some diversity would be good here. I have the same issue with Pedro Pascal who seems to be in fucking everything.
