The brother is 23 (DOB in 2000). The little sister is too little to show up in public records, probably under 18. From the shows she is watching it sounds like either she is VERY young, or very autistic.

Brother's FB goes back to 2010 and the earliest posts are a mix of what you would expect a 10 year old boy to care about plus a lot of rainbow flag and lefty babble. I am guessing mom never shuts up about this shit, and school probably is just as bad.

Sis is much younger than Victoria, and it sounds like she's autistic but not severely so, and has hEDS but is no more affected than any other (ie: not much) but Victoria is insisting that both of those 'disabilities' are the reason she needs her powerchair and assisted living and is completely unable to live anything even approximating an adult life. Her sister is young enough to be terrified of this future instead of telling her stupid fat sister to fuck off and get a life. Her parents are, quite rightly, pissed at this and want her to shut the fuck up about her version of disability and living with such. Of course, to Victoria, this is proof of her parents criminal censorship and shows that they are utterly abusive because they want her sister to grow up 'unaware of just how terribly these disabilities are impacting her life'. Only Victoria can heroically save her sister from a life of boring normalcy instead of the exciting attention seeking world of dynamic disability!

If the kid has these diagnoses (I won't dignify this situation with saying "has these syndromes) then mom (who is deeply into woo-med) is almost certainly the culprit.

Yeah, I don’t think anybody ever had to convince or encourage Victoria to do any of this, they only enabled her.

She was already getting attention and praise for being a politically active “advocate against mental illness stigma” as a 16-year-old with anxiety and depression, before she ever pooned out. She absorbed early on that she was very brave and special and doing some sort of good work by having problems and talking about them openly, so of course this means she needs more problems that she can talk about more and be more of an “advocate”.

If this were the 80’s, I can almost guarantee she'd be doing the exact same thing, but with recovered memories and multiple personalities rather than disability.

They don't diagnose hEDS in children I believe, so she almost certainly does not.

I doubt that the sister is officially diagnosed autistic either, simply because Victoria claims her parents "knew for 2-3 years" but didn't tell the sister. 1) Why would parents who are that much in denial about autism even bother to drag an older kid to diagnostic appointments and 2) How could an 11-12 year old kid go through the diagnostic process without realizing what was going on, unless she was severely impaired (and she clearly isn't)

Also, take note that Victoria (who probably has vascular EDS, remember, according to her!), is massively worried about her sister "processing her disability" and dealing with grief and autistic hyperstimulation, but is apparently not at all worried about her sister also carrying the autosomal dominant genetic condition that makes people's aortas explode. Funny, that.

I just can’t fathom the mentality here. Is this how she thinks human interaction works? Friendship? I almost pity her.

Also, a disability advocate gets a MacArthur grant (after they awarded one to Ibraim X Kendy I’ll never take them seriously again) and immediately starts bitching about micro-identities, much to Vicky’s approval:

Not sure this is true- hEDS is genetic, so I believe children can get diagnosed if other members of their family are?

Knew a group of siblings who were all diagnosed at the same time because the youngest child (as a baby) was often getting dislocations and the doctors reported to CPS. Whole family was diagnosed with hEDS, and the CPS case was dropped. Turns out they were all just weird bendy people and baby was too? That said, I am not a medfag, so I could be wrong.

This is irrelevant to Victoria's case, as she is a known liar and any diagnoses claimed are probably bullshit anyway.

To the extent that "heds" is real at all, it's a diagnosis of exclusion. One of the things that needs to be excluded is flexibility due to having unfinished bones and joints, ie a small child.

Yeah, I was wrong: as of recently, they will diagnose it in children if a parent has a diagnosis and the child meets the criteria. If there is no parent diagnosis, the most a child can be diagnosed with is "pediatric generalized hypermobility spectrum disorder" (as an aside, they need to fire the people coming up with disorder names these days, and just go back to naming them after Nazi scientists or whatever. They all sound stupid).

This is because as @Larry David's Opera Cape said, kids are naturally bendy, so they figure trying to diagnose children based on things like hypermobility alone will lead to overdiagnosis. Extremely bigoted IMO, don't they know that kids know what they are and it's the job of adults to listen?!

Since there's no diagnosis of the parents in Victoria's case it doesn't apply anyway (and also Victoria is forgetting that she claims to have a different type of EDS)

It’s not about the mask, though, is it? It’s about using their victim status to control the behavior of others, which they believe means they also control the thinking of others. It’s the same thing they do with words they don’t like - “if no one dares say TRANNY that must mean everybody loves us”.
