Journalism is impossible to read because journos, in addition to lying, also like to play with language too much and use phrases and french words to make their writing more interesting. I don't know where the idea developed but they must think "longer article = better article" because so many times they write a fucking novel to tell something that can be done in a page.

Not to long ago someone posted a article where a journo "investigated" how much bullshit dentists can upgrade on basic dental work. In a page that managed to establish a baseline on going to their family dentist and then establish the methodology of going to several different dentists in different states showing how much extra stuff the dentists were putting in to increase the cost. They didn't write in such a clinic manner as described and it was a entertaining article. Looked at the date of the article and it was written in either late 80's or mid 90's, can't remember.

Now I can expect the same article to be a weekly article put out over a month with many side tracks about DEI agenda of how black people are impacted any side topics about their childhood trauma of their dentist experience.

Once journos found themselves unbound by physical page space, they all got high on their own farts and the pipe dream of one day writing the next Great American Novel. Things got worse when viewer retention became a relevant factor and some rags even started to split articles across multiple webpages for no reason other than to show you more ads. An article about a local fire will now begin with some "setting of the scene" or framing device like "It was a typical Tuesday for Kate Weller. The 50-year-old Texan housewife and mother of four had just returned home from a busy day of grocery shopping when BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH", which goes on for two to three paragraphs before any meaningful information is conveyed.

Most present-day online journalism is unreadable because of this cancer alone, not even accounting for the frivolous bending of the truth and all the ideological bullshit.
