Hurricane Milton

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I wouldn't assume Ocala will be unaffected, some models have Ocala getting 7 inches of rain, same with Gainesville.

Light Orange is 6+, Orange is 8+.
Ocala is a proper swamp, that water isn't gonna go anywhere it'll just pool right up. Personally I'd be headed to Sebring or Wellington. Wellington has better infrastructure than Sebring and is a little more out of the way, but Sebring is close enough that it'll work even if the weather could get a little intense.

I have a friend who's family lives in Cape coral, in a flood zone A, and they're staying. I can't imagine being this stupid. Godspeed FL kiwis.
Are they fucking retarded? Do they wanna end up as a sob story on the news?
Survival of the fittest I guess.

Listen man, momma didn't raise no bitch, but depending on where you are, these numbers are simply not survivable. 158mph sustained winds with storm surges of 10-30 feet will just kill you.

Milton is looking really healthy.

Kind of a minor detail, but the House of Mouse is in the dead center of the current forecast cone:

Despite being built in the center of Florida, I don't think the Disney parks have ever had a direct hit from a hurricane, especially not one this powerful. It'll be interesting to see what happens there. I hope some soytuber makes a "STAYING AT DISNEY DURING A HURRICANE!!! (CRAZY)" video.

Oh I'm well aware, my friend is as well, their family has just somehow decided that they're built different and will be fine somehow. It's actual insanity.

Total Disney destruction. Total mouse death.

They had a direct hit a few years ago can't remember which storm but it was interesting watching the footage. There was massive flooding in the resort hotels think one had a roof give way. People will stupidly risk their lives to tape the storm if it hits Disney.

Was it Irma? That wasn't a direct hit, but it was close enough to Orlando to have some notable impacts. She was down to a Cat 2 by that point because the storm came up the state from the South so it spent a while over land before hitting the area. It did take some trees down and damage some other stuff but most of it was cosmetic.

Milton has the potential for the eye of the storm to pass directly over basically every Disney property. Forecast tracks still have it passing directly over Tampa and then making a beeline for Orlando, so we'll see how that turns out.
