Halo became Gaylo, but for real and officially this time

As mediocre as Infinite's campaign was, that game is going to be the swan song of the entire franchise, lmfao

But is she passionate about Halo in the same way O'Donnell, Salvatori, and the others at Bungie were?
She seems to be more of a market analyst. Her goal would be to maximize profit of the Halo IP. Given her claims to being a D&D player, I wonder if she had responsibility in approving the Halo miniatures games that Mantic made?

With the end of support for MCC and the abysmal launch of Halo Infinite, Microsoft appointed an established researcher at Microsoft (who apparently had a hand in the project research for Halo Wars 2) to promote the best means to strengthen the profitability of the Halo brand.

Looks like they are already showcasing things for that Halo CE remaster using UE5. It's not the game itself, just showing off the ideas they have.
I find it interesting that they are going by Halo Studios now.
Very strong "Nintendo hire this man" vibes from this. The animation is really off and the amour looks too fat, it just looks bad. UE5 probably isn't a good fit to the type of Halo Xbox wants. Xbox wants Halo to be a live service game, probably an open world too and UE5 kind of sucks dick at that. It's weird when you think about it on account of how versatile UE is supposed to be but it really doesn't fit large games with lots of content.

Ah well, Halo has been dead for longer than it was good.

The move to UE5 is purely so they can keep up the practice of using temp contract workers instead of hiring a full-time staff. The reason Infinite languished under this system is because the contractors spent their entire tenure learning the old proprietary Halo engine, which hampered their ability to do actual work on the game. Every dev and their grandma knows how to work in UE5, so they can be onboarded and immediately start on actual work until their contract expires.

Can you imagine how bad Halo would be if Xbox hired passionate and talented devs that they kept on permanently? They might do something crazy like understand the game, the engine, the fans or something awful like that. Thank God Halo is made by a revolving door of barely sentient Indians and underpaid contractors being managed by people who hate Halo and Halo fans.

I joke but there's literally no way to explain MS insistence on making their products worse. It's not even like it sells well.

The Halo 2 E3 2003 Demo campaign "mission" has been reworked to be playable in MCC. It releases on November 9th, the 20th anniversary of Halo 2.

I really wish they got the stencil lighting working. Its sorta still there in H2.
I've unironically thought about making a Halo clone called Gaylo: Reach Around and throwing it on the steam store for laughs. It'd be the heartwarming story of a man named John Gaylo from Buenos Aires Brazil.

Xbox Research Manager Melissa Boone is Advancing Diversity in Gaming

Spelman Sister Melissa Boone has a doctorate in sociomedical sciences and social psychology from Columbia University (what a mouthful — you go girl!). When not writing fan fiction or campaigning in Dungeons and Dragons, this Black female druid serves as a research manager at Xbox. Boone has honed her skills through the doldrums of academia, trudged through a market research internship to end up leading a team whose job is to support advancing Microsoft’s commitment to diversity. It was there, Boone says, “It seemed like a place that I could really find my enjoyment, my passion,” and where she “could learn and grow.” BGN sat down virtually to find out how Boone applies her Black druid magic on the world of Microsoft.

Boone identifies as pansexual. “One of the things we love about Microsoft is we talk so openly about diversity, inclusion, and specific areas of that. We talk a lot about intersectionality.

RIP Halo
so xtunning and xrave

Must be really sad to be part of a company specifically created to keep making games in a franchise that they didn't create and are now known for being the ones who killed the interest on it.
Meanwhile Bungie somehow fumbled their way into success with Sony paying billions because of destiny 2, the only game in history that i can think off were they patched out the content people who bought the physical copies payed for
