There's a They/Them character in the starting village Sable refers to as "They" when having an inner monologue about him during conversation. Idk if there's any other instances of this with other NPCs or other pozzing since I got bored with the game after 6 - 7ish hours. Before Syntheticman knew about SB's involvement he thought the game was pretty and just ok, but since then was disappointed knowing SB was involved and believes Sable being a Black female protag's part of their propaganda, which can also be said for pretty much all the characters who's skin's visable.

As for the gameplay, it's pretty much a watered down version of Breath of the Wild when it comes to the puzzles, exploration and climing. Customizing the Glider's pretty cool and the cel-shaded Moebius aesthetic look really nice (during the day at least) and easy on the eyes. A couple nitpicks I had were Sable's jumps were too floaty and her inner monologues when talking to NPCs were dry and came off like reading a novel -- added too much fluff to conversations imo.
I haven't gone back to it since release and there's been several patches over the years that may have fixed some bugs, but initially, the menus and dialog boxes would sometimes glitch out, preventing you from tabing over to other menus and selecting options.

(I just realized the main character is a woman while writing this, lol). It's kind of an artsy fartsy game if you dig the mood and the style you might enjoy it. I only played it for an afternoon and got bored with it pretty quickly. Interactions were forgettable, I don't even remember wokeshit characters.

If you go back to the early 00s there were plenty. Although I don't think a lot of them hold up to the test of time with general improvements to gameplay.

It really needed combat, or hunger/thirst. Beautiful game but so fucking boring.

Maid of the Dead is pretty good, but you might not need it if you already got Vampire Survivors or Holocure. (Of course, Holocure is all girls as well.)

The problem isn't THAT the protagonist is female, as there are plenty of examples of good games with female protags. In fact, if you were bored enough to go dumpster diving in the switch eshop, you'd find some good indie games with female protags.

The problem is HOW the female protagonist is displayed, both in appearance and as a character. Sometimes it's piss easy to spot out the bad protag women (fat/ugly/both bitches with bad haircuts, having race be THE main pushing selling point, etc..) but other times you have to bite the bullet and dip your toes in the water to find out for yourself.

Look at someone like Lara Croft. Everyone fucking loved her. She was a genuine badass with dual pistols, was clever and posh but had a certain charm to her that made her appealing. Not to mention she was attractive. Compare to her current iteration and it's night and day. Nevermind her manish appearance, she's become the kind of woman that hollywood has been portraying for the past umpteenth years (basically the "independent woman that need no man" trope but yet is weak and winey and annoying as fuck, but you're supposed to sympathize with her and her struggles because reasons).

Female Protagonist doesn't automatically mean the game is dog-shit. It's just that there are too many bad examples as of late, specifically in the AAA market, where those games have just sucked big donkey dicks because the devs are fucking retarded. But you shouldn't immediately write the game off because "woman".

There's also plenty of games with shitty one dimensional male characters these days as well that only exist because of a combination of outward appearance crap to try and appeal to a demographic that doesn't buy games.

This is also how we got shit in hollywood like Jennifer Lawrence claiming she was the first female action lead, ignoring all sorts of movies and TV shows from the 70s through 90s.
