Hurricane Milton

It looks to me like the landing area has shifted somewhat south to Sarasota on some prediction models? If so that may spare Tampa somewhat but I still wouldn't want to chance it.

All that teasing about running a straight line to disneyworld and taking out the hellscape that is celebration as a collateral and we're going to get blue balled? It's a Milton alright.
if it did hit disney it'd be so far inland and weak it wouldn't do that much

Uhhh...

The real reason Disneyworld waited as long as they did to close was so that park staff could nab a few errant children whose disappearances could be blamed on the storm chaos; they have been busy at work performing sacrifices to their mouse deity since closing the park. It seems Mickey is pleased.

It was projected to still potentially be a category 2 or high 1 by the time it hits Orlando, but with the new further south trajectory it’s unlikely to be too impactful there.

Reviewbrah just posted a video, does anyone know where in Florida he is?

Alright so a basic thing to do In a hurricane is to close all doors inside to minimize the chance of the wind getting in and lifting roofs. Anything else besides blocking windows I can do? I have water and food and meds
You've gotten a lot of good replies to this. Here's my contribution: wear a reliable pair of shoes for the duration of the storm, boots if you have them. People tend not to think about this, but if your house gets damaged or completely destroyed, you could be walking around in debris that includes glass and nails.

And here's something not to do. There was a viral "hurricane hack" claiming that you should put your important documents in your empty dishwasher to keep them dry. That's absolute nonsense, do not do it, your dishwasher is not built to keep water out. Keep all your most valuable paperwork in double ziplock bags as close to you as possible, maybe in a backpack with other important items, should you need to suddenly leave your safe place.

Best of luck, fren. Stay safe! ❤️

Given the circumstances of life, 20% is statistically high.
I think that's splitting hairs. While it is entirely possible those chances could increase anywhere from a day to a week from now, it's still unlikely from what's being reported for the time being. I'm not saying it should be totally disregarded, but I don't think it's something to panic about while Florida is staring a much bigger problem in the face.

That's why I said, focus on what's on the plate right now. Everyone can worry about what Mr. 20% will do when it actually increases in probability and especially when it starts getting tracks on it.

That disturbance is moving east lmao
Also this.
