Hurricane Milton

That’s because they didn’t New Orleans was built on the tallest hill in the area but due to the city of New Orleans deciding to turn all the surrounding swampland into more New Orleans by pumping the water out of the swampland then building on it the gound slowly started to compact and now the entire city at risk of being flooded if a Levee ever breaks. That Gentility Ridge in the picture you posted used to be 80 feet above sea level.

Yesterday, I made a joke post showing the hurricane going 90 degrees northbound into Tallahassee and up through the Carolinas. Well, I check the news today and

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT PURPLE LINE

NO NO NO NO NO
Don't put too much faith into a single model. I mean it's still reason for concern, but more than likely it's still going to hit the Tampa Bay area and stay pretty well clear of the Big Bend.

So if this does hit and ravage Sarasota while doing major damage to Tampa, what is the chance that insurance will be available next hurricane season?
Uhhh.... Low. IIRC State Farm and AAA have already pulled out of the state entirely. After Helene and this storm I wouldn't be surprised if another insurer takes a huge loss and pulls out.

*I'm a leaf the information aviable to me isn't as good as let say a Floridan or a american.*

Guess we really peaked with katrina eh?

Anyway, over 1800 people died that time and new orleans back then wasn't even half a million, are you sure its gonna be that low?

Don't know who is a biggest schizo, this guy or the forex one...
"Nothing ever happens" people when hundreds of people die and billions in infrastructure are destroyed

I don’t think I’ve seen any inquiring minds ask about the alligators yet. How big of a potential issue will they be with 5+ feet of standing water everywhere in Western/Central Florida (for at least a few weeks) after they get flung all over the place like 150mph missiles with armored hides and teeth?

ETA this doesn’t sound good, if they survive the storm’s landfall. View attachment 6501183
I mentioned Crawl earlier in the thread and I’m doing it again because it’s literally a movie about a Cat 5 hurricane hitting Florida and monster gators running amok and eating people.

This is what I assume is gonna happen to the people who don’t evacuate:

Its already a huge problem. Got a few local grifter start ups and a State sponsored program are about anyones option anymore. And they both barely satisfy legal requirements, let alone make anyone whole... at a cost few can afford

How big is the eye of the hurricane? I don't live where hurricanes happen and all Google would give me is news articles telling people to evacuate.

Also, how do those guys fly into the hurricane without it crashing the plane?

I am not a fucking psychic man, I don’t know. Katrina was different, the hurricane didn’t kill people. It was the levee breaking. Plus they put all the black people in that stadium that flooded. It was a whole clusterfuck. I bet most people are evacuating.

Deathtoll for Katrina was 1390.

That or premiums will go off the charts.

All those retards who been investing in overpriced miami real estate must be reconsidering their life choices right now, hopefully with a loaded shotgun.

Calm your tits, what, are you in florida?

No, I'm in Scotland but my son is in Florida (josh)

back in Walt's day he made sure to have a standing army of robots ready to go at a moment's notice, and backups for at least half of them
declining by degrees...
He still does have those robots in waiting, The time will come when the platinum Disneyland fun dollar gets delivered to him and he can use it to upgrade his robots and take control of the Milton destroyed Florida wasteland under his new name Mr Mouse.

Tampa isn't a fish bowl that is below sea level. And people seem to be taking evacuation orders seriously. I would say between 35 and 100 is a fair estimation. The issue is property damage. Which will be obscene.

Denis Phillips is claiming 905 MB pressure, NWS is claiming 915. Anybody have something more definitive than either?
