Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

Linus sucks shit but not being able to post "how I built a thing" albeit a dangerous thing, I can't see how that's arguing for anything other than censorship. Most people should not attempt a power supply build, but I learned to reload ammunition from YouTube, how to run all sorts of saws, how to rebuild a diesel, how to re wire houses, etc. I'm sure a non retard could do a very informative video on power supplies that id hate to see censored because of pearl clutching about tards.

If you're retarded enough to attempt to make your own fucking power supply, then you eventually getting electrocuted/injured, is not the fault of whoever uploaded the guide. It's on your wrangler for giving a tard unrestricted access to internet.

Like half the users of the ham radio thread have probably built something similar or with similar amounts of danger and power. Just because you're a fool doesn't mean we should lower the bar for the rest of us.

I'm not arguing for censorship. I'm not saying that people should be forbidden from producing or consuming educational content on dangerous topics. I'm saying that it's dangerous and irresponsible to half ass your video where you tell people to do dangerous shit. Doubly so when your audience is mostly kids and faggot "le master rays" PC gamer types. Linus and his audience give me very "deaf leading the blind" vibes.

I'm amazed that the "build your own Power Supply" video saw the light of day. Plastering "Don't try this at home kids" all over the video isn't a magic get-out-of-jail-free card for absolving yourself of responsibility when instructing people on how to do something so profoundly stupid. To state the obvious - fucking this tech tip will kill you, your dog and burn your house down.

The most offensive part of this video is that it's framed as a "hacky" "fun" project anyone can do. If you have to explain to your audience in basic terms what the principal components of a power supply are and what they do, then you shouldn't be instructing them on how to build one, you absolute retard. A layperson without this foundational knowledge won't complete this project successfully, let alone safely. "Yeah, don't use our awesome branded LTT store screwdriver™️ ($69.99 USD) to electrocute yourself" and then the very next short he's poking the sponsored Seasonic ™️ power supply with a screwdriver. Incredible.

Releasing a dangerous video like this, spruiking it as an achievable project and then opaquely using it as a vehicle to shill power supplies for Seasonic™️ is a genuinely sickening display of greed and callous disregard for your audience.

I started watching that video hoping that he was going to be actually designing an building a linear or switching mode power supply (as in creating a schematic and laying out a PCB or at least perf boarding it), or at least seeing something funny like someone using a monster lambda power supply to run a computer. I kept waiting for at least a Dave Jones level beat down of those PCBs, but I guess I'm watching the wrong retard for that. I agree though, Amazon-tier chinkshit power electronics are dangerous enough as it is, and if this guy has as many room temperature IQ retards and children watching him as it sounds like he does, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if someone electrocuted themselves shorting a cap or at least welded a screwdriver to a pair of leads. He shouldn't have even mentioned combining power supplies (other than just saying never ever do this, you'll cause a nuclear catastrophe if you do), as that's dangerous as fuck, and didn't even touch bad and weird shit that can happen like ground loops.

If he wanted something low effort but silly and probably not terribly unsafe, he could just get an ATX12VO motherboard and try to find the most retarded source of 12V power imaginable. Like running it off the cigarette lighter of a car for a "portable gaming rig" or whatever.

Actually really hope his writers are here and steal my idea because seeing Linus blow up the motherboard when the float charge voltage exceeds its limits, melt the wiring in his car trying to run a 4090 after bypassing an "unnecessary" fuse or just ending up stranded after his kids forget to turn it off would be hilarious.

That Marques app works pretty well and he made a response addressing everything which was surprisingly pretty good. He outsourced the publishing and they just ticked everything. For those who don't know, there's a dumb process to publish applications and there are brokers that expedite this. The list of permissions are given to the various application stores. That's a dumb first time developer blunder.

But then, wallpapers? I'll stick to photos of my cat doing stupid things and family. Maybe I'm getting old. Some of those images are cool and all but they're not my cat.

I'll never understand having a completely impersonalized wallpaper like that. Every wallpaper I've ever used was a picture I've taken of a pet, loved one or location I've been to. Or just something representing a personal interest, like a video game. Using generic, and in some cases AI-generated, artwork as the wallpaper on your phone is very weird to me. Especially one sold to you by a tech review YouTuber.

Jesus fuck I didn't know this was a video he made. I knew he was fucking stupid but I didn't think he was fucking braindead. Good fucking lord these influencers are genuinely fucking stupid to the highest degree.

It's a matter of knowing your audience. Adrian's Digital Basement still slaps a warning whenever he opens a power supply, but it's small and you can also see him take precautions and understand the risks at being around mains voltage; same with Big Clive.

This Linus video mentions how the power supply should be "de-energized," but unless I missed it, he doesn't mention the capacitors themselves can store a serious charge, even if the power supply is disconnected.

His audience is generally more stupid and he has a lot of warnings, but they don't seem to cover the actual dangers people wouldn't think about. "Oh the power is disconnected. It should be fine!" Compare it to the GamersNexus videos when they were testing the exploding Gigabyte PSUs.

i mean yeah it's a smaller screen and you literally can't use it at it's rated framerate because the GPU to drive it doesn't exist but COME ON GUYS IT'S SO COOL I CAN REALLY FEEL THE FRAMES I'M NOT GETTING

I can't wait to watch AI-upscaled youtube videos with 420 interpolated frames shoved into them through a compressed video feed, because i wasn't getting enough compression or a low enough bitrate already on youtube.
Semi-related, but fuck TAA. Never in my life will i understand why someone would willingly subject themselves to blurring their entire screen while playing a game.

I feel like i need glasses when that shit's active, thank fuck i don't play modern games or my eyesight would be destroyed from the strain.

He's coming off almost as illiterate as DSP. Phil s trying to get setup on Kick and trying multi-casting, and because Kick only supports 8,500MBPS and not the full 10,000MBPS he pushes on YouTube, he was telling his retarded viewers that the video will probably be blocky and bad. No, he doesn't aim to stream at 4k, he's just a humble 1080p60fps streamer, who enjoys taking up as much bandwidth as possible for his retarded kahntent.

irrespective of any of that one should never financially support nigger endeavors, especially nigger names marquesse niglee

For $30 buy a Rotring Rapid Pro pen. It'll last longer and have higher quality.
you seem like a pen nigger. what are your thoughts on caran d'ache?

This was actually a worthwhile idea ruined by the modern youtube ADD meta and LTT soy. They have to guess the prices of the parts without the internet, but are given a small amount of time to actually pick a part from their warehouse inventory. In typical LTT fashion they tried to etch the glass side panel and it broke because they didn't adjust the laser intensity. All of them dress like slobs and that weird David guy seems to be new to lifting, as he's doing that thing of want to show off his arms with a shirt one size too small for him also his moobs, he's also probably taking HRT for the latter knowing him.
