That’s what makes this so worth it, that he isn’t still sitting on a pile of money from Depp. It’s all gone.
Correct! I've long thought that he's been spending down his online earnings on depreciating assets - bad art, Mustang, Rendazza, drugs (lolz) - in an effort to reduce any rightful, non-trust/unprotected funds that Kayla could claim as part of the estate.
Don’t forget that sweet, sweet alimony! Kayla hadn’t had a job in like a decade. Any divorce would mean he’d have to pay alimony for a good five years.
Minnesota isn't a community property state, but when they got married they had nothing, and came up together. She didn't work and raised his kids (at least on paper). He's fucked, because he did not enter the marriage with any assets separate from her. He owes her alimony and child support x5. I guess if he can wait a year it'll only be child support x4.
The issue is how much the trust fund protects Nick's wealth for the division of assets and future
spousal support. This is potentially substantial.
If the trust monies were kept separate and funneled through a sole account in Nick's name, Kayla would have no claim to that money within the division of assets.
Nick, despite being a wreckless person, may have been organized in this regard. He has spoken on stream about "wealth management" (he claims to have worked in this area, broadly) and his own investments. There was a real estate investment fund in TX he once mentioned when addressing the trust fund accusations. I believe Ty Beard works with the family's investments.
Kayla
does have a claim to half of his online earnings and prior work. That's roughly $1.5M by my estimate: $150K Rittenhouse + $250K Depp + $1M Rumble deal + extra Superchat money and whatever he earned pre-YT. She'd get half of that. That's been highly eroded (see above). Also, back out taxes. It's a pittance.
(I'm not sure what "4x" means. Most "high value" divorces require the monied spouse to pay for tuition and living expenses of a child through college, assuming the eldest child is college-bound. Nick can fight that. He can claim destitution, I suppose, but I have got to believe he wouldn't be that disgusting or that Bob and Celeste would step in.)
