Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

Is there anyone crying over Velma being canceled who isn’t a tranny or apart of the brony fandom at one time?
Kind of, but it’s just Ya Boi Zack being a contrarian:
Yeah, it's literally clickbait, so that Zack can berate you multiple times for clicking on a Velma video in between him rambling about comic book minutia and the noise of his box fan.

Instead of clicking on a BPC video about something like Velma, do some pushups, Zack says.

Ok. Thanks for telling us what we're allowed to care about. You're still obsessed with comic books, but for some reason that's not weird and foolish, because it interests you.

This seems to be happening a lot this year....
Bouchiba had previously been arrested and convicted in 2014 for sexually assaulting the eight-year-old daughter of his partner at the time. He received a two-year suspended sentence at the time. It was discovered during that first criminal case that he had viewed child pornography. The sexual assault conviction did not affect his animation prospects and afterwards he continued to work regularly on Pixar animated features and was hired by Glen Keane to animate on Dear Basketball, among other assignments.
How the hell was this not enough to stop Pixar from hiring him? What the hell is wrong with the frogs for only giving him a two-year suspended sentence? This whole thing is so fucked.

I’m glad these people are getting the backlash they deserve because stuff like this is disgusting.

You know guys, it’s funny how faggots, troons and pedophiles want to be accepted by society, yet they keep doing stuff like this!

It's disgusting.

I think the only footage we have of him touching people are of him giving brohugs to other men and having his arm around Hayao Miyazaki's shoulders.
Sven on Josh's podcast mentioned something about Artists coming together to form a site called "Fuck Yeah John Lassiter!" where they drew him blowing off Miyazaki and other unflattering exaggerations. So idk what he was like to work with for artists to draw that or what, but sounds interesting.

That's what most topic-based Tumblr blogs were called back in the day, actually.

Most of them don't seem to be helping with the stereotype. I have one on the top of my head, which is a historical cook. I know because I was searching for people trying to bake the Pompeii bread, and watched his video and apparently he's married to another man, but he doesn't make being a homo his identity. But that and a few others is the one I can count. Troons, I absolutely do not trust, as they will backstab you sooner or later, even someone who seems "normal" - they are mentally ill or have some disease that need attention.

EDIT: Perhaps the fact that the cartoon industry not being too different from movie industry, with sleazebags and other shitstains (should I say Sleaze-BERGS & Shit-STEINS instead?), perhaps we can come closer to understand why we are here. It's a shame because unlike hollywood, I have never seen an in depth commentary of "The Cartoon Industry files"-sort of documentary. At best you have Walt Disney talking how he was a Freemason (which may or may not be true, I think his brother Roy Disney was a Freemason instead?), some ignoring of interwar period, then jumping to "how bad things are today", but never naming names. I wonder why is that.

Because from the 60s onward, cartoons were seen as a "kids" thing, and no one really bothered to question it. It's probably how sleezy people like John K were even able to get in and do all the things they did in the first place.

True enough - we tend to forget that. Perhaps that is a missing component to it. And perhaps name names. I wouldn't at all be surprised if you have a "small club" of people who "knew each other" and got cartoonists together, even if the artists had to be hired and actually do the drawings. I do mean the upper echelon - much like Hollywood. A club in which you, me, and everyone here would need to be groomed or have a "recommendation" to be part of.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to figure that in the early days of animation, the club was probably formed less by grooming than by hazing.

Which is to say, doing repetitive work at a breakneck pace for peanuts and no public recognition. Only a proud and few group of artistically inclined maniacs would bother.

The anime industry is still like that today. Draw whatever conclusions you want.
