Broken that rule a lot. Not the naked part, I don't walk around the house naked, but without a shirt at least. I also used to flip it by reaching into the skillet and grabbing the strips and flipping them. I had a lot more calloused skin then though.

The pro move is to bake your bacon. Lay it out on a baking rack on top of a rimmed baking sheet and slide into a cold oven that you set to 425F and time for 20-25 minutes (actual time will vary based on your particular oven and the texture you want from your bacon).

Also, this gives you lots of very clean rendered bacon fat to hang onto and use for gumbo or frying eggs later.

Also, no spicy splatter to burn yourself on.

I prefer long, slow cooks at a low temperature in a cast iron skillet.
