Hot take: There will be no October Surprise, or at least one that affects election results all that much. My theory is that Trump’s relative immunity to scandal and controversy that has been with him since he descended that escalator has now extended to American politicians in general as people have become inoculated to scandal and will play it down or dismiss it outright if it affects their team. For example, if there’s credible proof that Tim Walz diddles kids, then only right wing sources will report on it and the left will try to memoryhole it or minimize it as much as possible. Most of the undecided vote has already gone for Trump due to the lackluster DNC campaign performance and the vice versa for the Trump campaign, there isn’t much room left to deepen the cut. I’ll be glad to eat my words if an October Surprise that BTFO’s Harris/Walz even more in the polls drop.

I know a few people who won't shut up about how it's going to make federal agencies completely powerless (God do I wish this were true) and that corporations will be able to do anything they want know. None of these people have been able to answer why this wasn't the case before the ruling came into effect in 1984. Otherwise it hasn't done much of anything yet.

The real angle with this almost has to be to get an hour of footage that they cut down into a fifteen minute interview, effectively giving her campaign the same deal that other media companies did. That fifteen minutes will still look bad and won't help her at all, but it won't hurt her that much either since Fox viewers aren't voting for her anyway. However, unlike the others, Fox (or someone at Fox) will leak the full unedited interview and that'll be disastrous. It might also apply pressure for the other companies (or just someone at them with access) to leak the unedited interviews Kamala did there.

I'm willing to be there will be another assassination attempt. Not some supposed Trump supporter that gets out on a $5,000 bond, but an actual deranged Democrat that believes they're saving Democracy. It'll be someone trying to get close with a handgun instead of using a rifle. As the race comes to an end and pollsters have to put out somewhat honest poll numbers the results will show either Trump winning (likely reality) or a dead-even tie (which is about as much as they can get away with) and that's going to put some people over the edge. Look at how unhinged the people on DU sound and tell me that you don't think one of those fuckers wouldn't decide to become a martyr.

Someone should tell them that Norway also has strict border controls and puts immigrants in detention camps.

Also, there’s no free healthcare. Everyone who goes to see the doctor needs to pay a set amount. (Around 20$-30$ as I recall).

Apparently it was hot and they had to open the doors since there was poor ventilation and no A/C. They have been just playing songs so far, now it's Hallelujah. Nobody is leaving though and everyone is listening to music with Trump.

I agree with both points. Trump going on Rogan and having it go anything other than badly would be huge.

Just mentioned this in a post a few days ago, but you would've never seen anything like this in 2020. Trump getting on all these podcasts both shows that speaking to him is no longer a cultural capital offense, and that people are accepting the very real fact that he might win.

In that sphere, Rogan's as big as it gets. I don't think Joe didn't want Trump on in the past because of any moral or personal political belief. He knows that a good interview could tip the balance by humanizing Trump, and would potentially cure a good number of people of their TDS. Interviewing Trump during the height of COVID and Jan 6th "insurrection" hysteria would've been seen as a massive middle finger to establishment: An open, brazen, mainstream attempt to call out and override federal level propaganda. If that happened, there would 110% be a target on his back, and TPTB would've fucked him harder than they fucked Alex Jones, they would have make an example of him.

Now? Everything's in shambles: Four years of a shit economy, heavy MIC-fueled involvement in two foreign wars, and the incumbent drops out four months prior to the election because he's fucking senile. Trump's going on everyone else's show; Joe can just shrug his shoulders, play dumb, and pull in the biggest numbers in podcast history.

IIRC, one of the first post-canceled interviews on Rogan had some woman interrupt both of them from speaking and cut their mics. Am I crazy for remembering that? Jones looked uncomfortable, Rogan looked off screen and the camera started bouncing around, a mumbled woman's voice was heard, etc etc.

I think Spotify had more control over Rogan than Rogan wanted to admit, and that likely upsets him a bit.

I’m honestly not so sure.
If you’re a Democrat, Trump is an evil mastermind who will overturn the republic.

If you’re Republican, Trump will end the dark days and bring greatness and optimism back to America.

And if you’re somewhere in the middle, you know the media is full of shit, while not appreciating all of Trump’s tweets.

There are not a whole lot of people left to convert either way. Trump is a known entity, it’s Kamala that needs to get out there and not fucking it up. Something she’s doing a pisspoor job at.

This is what will win the election. Everybody knows that these past four years have been pretty shit, and want better days back.

Things were better under Trump. That’s what it’ll come down to in the end.

Will look forward to if there is any explanation, so far the only other remarkable thing that happened is that he accidentaly said Jan 5th instead of November 5th which has already been clipped by Kamala as part of her "Donald Trump has dementia" schtick.

Since it's Trump and the questions were kinda same-y, I wonder if he got bored and said, "let's just have a concert instead".

Looking at the clip after the second faint. It seems Trump asked if they could open the windows and the SS said "no my dude someone just tried to kill you like Saturday - open windows is open season"

Not sure what the music was about but maybe Trump decided to vibe a bit instead of more usual town hall questions so people could sit and chill. He mentioned some people had been waiting 2 days to see him there...

I find it interesting how much of a non-issue trannies are this season. Back in 2016 Trump even had to let Caitlyn Jenner or whatever he’s called use the bathroom at Trump Tower. Though I’d argue that in 2016 the trannies hadn’t gone full “biology is a spectrum” retardedness.
