What really gets me about this whole thing is that the very same people who are getting their knickers in a twist over "fake news" are the ones pushing Wu's "candidacy". What is faker news than a vanity candidate with no experience getting national news coverage for a House race 2 years from now?
There's no chance Wu will ever get within shouting distance of elected office, but if there's anyone left who still cares about the media and democracy, they should be scared. Look how few well-placed people it takes to astroturf a nobody onto CNN.

Wu would be smart to reveal that he's trans at the start of the campaign. He'd get a lot of positive press and it'll give him an opportunity to cry about harassment. If he's really lucky Lynch will say something ~transphobic~ and John could get a bump as a result.

That would be the best case scenario, since if Wu looks like a real candidate then all the dirt on him becomes an important story. Mostly I want to see professional opposition researchers dig in to Wu to see if they find anything the Farms missed.

That would be pretty ballsy, since Flynt/Wu never talked about it and sometimes even lied in relation to it.

I think he is too delusional to even consider that choice. He probably believes his lies.
