for the record

yes but it was a mess at launch, quite famously. took years for it to actually be a good game.
It was still a complex game to be made by a small team. Even given five years from launch look at what they accomplished, for free. They added content after content to the game.
they still nearly bankrupted themselves developing them. And baldur's gate 3 still took about 6 years to develop
BG3 started on one team while the other two worked on DoS3 and Div:Tactics. They were brought over later to help push the game out and it was still done by a much smaller team than GTA and is a large and deep game for the content.
that's indie and with a simpler artstyle. of course you can get something like that out faster than a AAA game with realistic graphics
The amount of content in the game is massive, the graphics arent as simple as they first seem and there's a lot going on with interactions. A small team churning out a big game.
if talking about spiderman, they kinda had a lot of the assets already available for use in the sequels, not that people here care for them after the first game had already been out. ratchet and clank was a remake, so less work needed to be done for asset creation, and they probably reused a decent amount of assets in its sequel. both of which probably still used sony's help and resources to expedite the process.
GTA 6 has assets from previous GTA games. 2500 people. Coming on 7 years with one (?) official trailer that was forced because of a leak.

point is, game development is a mess that amazes me that we even get any games to come out in the first place. 6 will probably be a swansong for rockstar, one last big hit before they try and fail to recapture that magic with something else.
They will try and fail to recapture the magic of GTA with 6. Big studios can't make games on time because they're an inefficient mess. Rockstar India is responsible for making a large part of the map. We saw what happened when they used that idea for Starfield.

1 hr 50 minute credit sequence incoming.

That's what RDR2 is imo, GTA6 has hype and memes going for it, but other than that, i doubt the game is gonna be as good as 5, let alone RDR2

  • GTA 4 Came out on April 29th 2008 - PC Port came out on November 18th, 2008 (GTA 4 is also regarded as one of the worst PC Ports ever)
  • GTA 5 Came out on September 17th 2013 - PC port came out on November 18th 2014
The PC port was in April 2015, the PS4 and XB1 port was in November 2014. RDR2 took 1 year to be ported to PC. I mainly thought the terrible port of IV was down to Rockstar’s inability to develop for anything other than the Xbox 360 considering the PS3 port was also terrible. Considering the relatively small install base of the new consoles (that most likely won’t go any higher when VI releases) and how close most consoles now are to PC components I’m hoping a good PC port comes faster than usual. Probably very optimistic of me though.

Something tells me you’re right about that…. I wonder what happens when the game tanks.

I also found this while researching GTA 4. :(

If there WOULD be a midnight launch for GTA VI, would people go to it? I would think a lot of people would just pre-order from their consoles. Even so, if you're anal about a spoiler-free experience, you'd need to avoid the Internet for a time. It'd be a better experience to unopen your physical copy (oh my Lord, the amount of videos that would flood the Internet with GTA VI unboxings because of clickbait)... but, you'd have to wait for the game to download and install.

>Get into GTA:SA after a long while.

>Game is hell to setup on modern standards (mods).

>Reach to Zero's missions.

>Somehow persevere through (actually first-timed it).

>Suddenly Learning to Fly.

>Flying on PC is garbage, but it's made worse due to game being broken (translucent black cubes all over the screen when desert heatwave, same when using Nitro on cars. Also, can't go underwater without the screen turning to Black.

>Literally soft-locked the game due to skill issue.

I forgot how much I hated flying in San Andreas. The worst part is, it used to be easier as kid, even mouse flying. It's somehow easier on the mobile version than the PC.

War Drum absolutely botched the controls to make it easier for mobile (especially the Hydra)

Just wondering, do you have any mods (e.g SilentPatch) installed?

It could just be that kid you had more time to master the controls.

I actually do have Silent Patch. In fact, I have a general Essentials Pack installed (I got it for the& Widescreen & Windowed Mode). I actually mastered it quicker as a kid (infiltrating airport & stealing Shamal).

Yeah, checks out.
How hard is it to download modloader, copy paste into root catalog, same with silent patch?
You used to modify gta3.img, replace files risking game bricking itself. Now it's all self contained and effortless.
Flying in San Andreas is piss easy, skill issue.

I don't think you understand, hell to setup doesn't mean that I don't know how to setup mods (I don't honestly even need to set it up that much apart from basic shit, Essentials Pack comes with everything pretty much set on it's own). What it means that the damn game doesn't go past it's splash screen without crashing back to Windows) if you don't do some virtual tard-wrangling.

Also, no it's not easy kek, the altitude fucks the plane up if you lift too much, & trying to not do a barrel roll crashes it like a Kamikaze pilot. The whole setup is tailor-made for PS2 controllers (& later fixed for touchscreens) so it fucks up on keyboard (even worse on mouse). I'm literally wondering how I managed to tard-wrangle through this on PC as kid honestly.

The same Pajeets that pooped up programming GTA trilogy Definitive edition
They're not indians lmao, if you want to see the faces of people that were responsible for GTA Trilogy DE their pictures are available on their company site.

That's a lot of excuses. Practice more.. San Andreas has best plane physics, helicopters are a bit wonky but perfectly flyable as well. Jeez, console babies thees days.

Mouse flying? I'm guessing you have to "fly" the plane by moving your mouse? That sounds horrible.

Speaking of War Drum, their Liberty City Stories mobile port is incompatible with my newer Andriod OS. But, VC and Chinatown Wars is. How?

I've never played this game on anything but PC. It has good physics, until the plane starts going either too up or too down despite precise control. Again, it flying is more precise with a controller than a keyboard (& god forbid, a mouse). It's the absolute opposite of land & water vehicles.

It was & still is. I personally only use keyboard only.

Curious, do you have a graphics mod that emulates the PS2 graphics with San Andreas? I'm sure PC is definitive thanks to mods, but nothing beats an authentic experience that the PS2 port provides BECAUSE of its limitations.

Isn't there an option for mouse controls while DRIVING?

Same with me but I'm side loading it into a Fire tablet. I can get it to boot up and start but it will crash after a couple of minutes. I was able to play it on older versions.

Shame, I liked LCS of all the 3D era GTAs. Dark, humorous, condensed, easy to get.
It's up there for me as well. I ended up emulating the PSP version. Currently playing The Sindacco Chronicles, which is pretty much a total mod of LCS and good fun so far besides a couple of jank missions.

Nope, I thought of going Vanilla at first with completing the game (I do wanna get into stuff like Underground & SA++ later) so what I only have the quality of life stuff in that comes with the Essentials Pack.

I do have this Cheat Menu, but it's barely ever used cause it's a fucking joke, might be the GTA V 5-min invincibility cheat of Trainers. It does become necessary at times tho, like when 555 We Tip gets soft-locked due to cutscene breaking or people finding the valet's body AFTER I reach the garage despite me killing him right beside the car (there's no mission passer or anything, I just try everything until it fixed itself somehow. It took 2 days, & I still don't know whatever did I do). Or Amphibious Assault, where I teleport cause going underwater makes the screen go Black.

I might legit find a save file, or go full skill issue & get something with a mission passer (I remember chaos mod having something like that, so it does exist). Fuck Learning to Fly, even the Driving School wasn't this bad (Driving School isn't even hard, just weirdly picky about awarding medals, even bronze ones, despite doing everything on point).
Isn't there an option for mouse controls while DRIVING?
Yes there is, & it's on by default. I got crushed by the train while riding BMX because I was trying to move the camera.

This isn't against the content creator themselves. All the quality of life improvements the Definitive Edition has should be the bare minimum given that technology has improved since the original releases.
