Mega Rad Gun Thread

I'm not sure if you mean that you haven't tried red dots and are going off of the fact that they're finicky with astigmatism, or if you have, and do struggle with them, but if you go into most gun stores or sporting goods stores, you can ask them if you can look through an optic. The lighting in something like an Academy is very bright, so it's not a great test, but it'll at least tell you whether it's worth it to try one. They seem to play nicer with astigmatism on relatively low brightness settings, so it's worth checking, if you haven't already.

I will never understand the obsession with micro guns. I know 5 foot tall 100lb women who carry a Glock 19.
I can put my Model 36 revolver in my pocket which is nice for CCW. Not everyone likes trying to conceal a brick.
if only there was a to lessen the cost. . .

you would absolutely save substantial money on 300 win mag long term.
To be fair I need to get into reloading lol.

To be fair it was more of a sunkcost fallacy situation with the handful of Augs they bought, might as well use them to run the fuckton of CBC .40 they already bought and will continue to buy for their handguns but 9mm taking over again after the 90s .40 craze, to my knowledge though they've never rechambered them back to 9mm and aren't really used much anymore.

On a somewhat related note you have this done in a brief collaboration of FAMAE the Chilean state arms manufacturer and Taurus, it was developed to basically run through all the millions of surplus M1 Carbine rounds that were left in Army stores but kept having issues that Taurus wouldn't fix as they were allegedly under contract to not be allowed to modify the design at all which while strange I can believe having worked with FAMAE before and gone through their retarded process to be approved as a business partner.

It's very cool and on my bucket list if I can find the right macaco officer to write off on one.
Huh interesting. Still I don't doubt that 40 helps with cokeheads when they need to break those out of the armory.

Because not everyone wants to carry around something G19 sized And tbh to actually conceal a gun that size it's AIWB which I can't stand

A 19 sized gun or even a full sized gun can be successfully carried appendix or strong side.

I don’t want to put effort into being proficient with a gun that’s objectively worse than a G19 or larger gun from a performance shooting standpoint. I can dedicate all my dry fire and range time to a gun I shoot well and enjoy shooting.

There's a different between carrying and effectively concealed carrying and some G19-G17 size makes that harder. Sometimes a LOT harder.

I'm a manlet and carry my g20 fine. Y'all sounding like girls complaining about earring weights.

Lol only halfway kidding. When ever I'm being lazy and grab Mrs bassomatic s dagger instead of my full size or rock just my Makarov or 1903 I feel let down or less armed even tho I'm not.

It's habitual, but yeah carry what you want because most of the time A gun is enough, a good gun is even better.

With proper skills and equipment carrying those sized guns is trivial. Strong side will probably relegate to the G19 sized gun. Appendix I can get away with a full size with plus 3 extension and optic, strong side I can get away with a full size with optic and flush fit mag. I’m 6’3” 230lbs, it’s hot all the time here, and my job requires being around customers that I don’t want to know I’m armed.

Whats the weirdest carry gun that has actually been used in a self-defense situation?
There's that confirmed story of a guy using his 20mm anzio as a snap shot that misted half a robbed. Hilarious.

Few stories of BP and shut used. I don't have it handy but the George Costanza meme grip 1911 was used to shoot someone.

I know a guy who owns a gun store during summer of love, he had a break in... Used a DPMS AR. Dude you have an entire store but that's the go to?

Took a pager pal holster and modified it to be IWB, OWB universal holster. Then I took some old leather, busted pair of suspenders and with three Chicago screws, a shoulder holster. Fits all my pistols and holds em snug with retention. Only problem is that my wife is now bugging me to make her one. So I guess that's my days project.

I'm an HK fag, I love my VP9 and HK45 but damn does that look ugly. Looks like a damn Taurus.
Yeah, they completely fucked up with the billboard down the slide. Like you said it looks like a Ruger or Taurus. The old text convention found on every pistol since the USP was fine, don't know why they felt the need to fuck that up.

Probably should have just brought this over instead, as it looks way better, and as shitty as it may be, looks absofuckinlutely matter for guns, just like cars. It doesn't matter how good a gun shoots if its ugly as fuck, myself included.

Leaning even harder towards a VP9sk now, mostly because it can use all of my VP9/P30/P2000 mags, too, the new micro 9 means that I'll have to buy at least 4 more mags for it.

Edit: I'll be buying the SK in urban grey when I get around to it, just so that it can match both my regular VP9 and my P30S. I'll be real, it would be a P30SK instead if they made them in grey, as "LEM all the USP things" is my general opinion of those.
