I had my start through IOSYS videos and doujin circle remixes of the games' music like many also did so what experiences do we have here on being introduced?
My first recollection of Touhou was playing PCB on my dad's potato PC. He introduced me to a lot of old games like Deus Ex and classic Fallout. Those were the only games I played growing up until I learned how to use uTorrent when I was around 14.

Now to qualify mine a little bit, I had learned the basics of browsing the internet at the age of like 7, and I visited a lot of Web 1.0 and early Web 2.0 game related sites as a child, especially Sonic because autism.
In the deep recusses of my mind, I may have heard of Touhou as early as 2004-5ish from just randomly exploring, but I couldn't tell you.
I only bring this up because for example, the first time I saw Alice, I had this odd feeling I had seen her in my childhood on like a shitty neet game and anime forum or something at some point.
Had that happen with a couple other characters, but Alice I cannot escape that feeling.

I honestly forgot what initially greeted me to the Touhou series, i almost want to say it may have been fan-animations, but my memory is vague. Just that this happened to be around the time where Touhou was considered at the zenith of its reception. EOSD was my first game, but back then i didn't beat it, since bullet hells were too difficult for me so i discarded the idea of chronologically playing the games. It was actually Hopeless Masquerade of all games that i beat first. Besides that, i remember really liking the music and the characters
Knowing how much of it there is, it really puts things into question on how many people were introduced to Touhou through those promiscuous pictures. I had my start through IOSYS videos and doujin circle remixes of the games' music like many also did so what experiences do we have here on being introduced?
For me it was a usb stick with EoSD to UFO from a friend. Had fun playing the hard game and silly dialogue. Remember to tell your friends "Bitch, get out of the way!" when you see them unexpectedly at night. If they stay in your way, blast them with the giant laser in your pocket (that just means you're happy to see them).
As much as I hate to say it, my intro to Touhou was awooposting in /pol/.I don't remember if I saw IOSYS and Akatsuki Records videos before or after reading the official mangas (plus famous fan-ones, I still wish there were more scanlations of Suwakoto.) Also found this while searching for the KYM article:

Same case here, figured out years later a users pfp on a long-dead website was Cirno. Funnily enough, that sites chat was the first time I encountered ye olde "is loli hentai the same as CSAM" debate. Xitter update time!

Comments are amazing: Did you know? The oldest fumo video widely known is of a deka Reimu display.

kingReymyon, who was mentioned last update has officially trooned out: Original | Archive Did you know? This Xeet has gotten more engagement then any of his others, alongside a re-xeet from Blake. Speaking of,
Blake de-boonked a random cancel xeet:
TL;DR - Junipertoki claimed to have been constantly asked for tit and feet pics from dwagongirl, who then told Junipertoki "how ugly i [Junipertoki] am in person and that I am a disappointment that he lusted after me even though I am 16 and he is 29!!!!!" and claimed to have been punched inside of a bathroom when they met each other at anime matsuri. Blake, as a sort MitM for dwagongirl, explains how all messages were faked, plus the pic of alleged bruises was taken from a FedEx workers subreddit.

I decided to see what was going on in Panzer-chan (of underage goonsesh fame)'s Discord!
Hidden channels are few, yet interesting:
Bonus: list of all users allowed to access the "erp" channel to my knowledge:
Also have whatever this is:
I only now learned apparently he wasn't very active in his own server until yesterday:
The #femboy channel is filed to the brim with thigh pictures, although this seemed funny: The eyes of a truly dead spirit, a mass of flesh solely existing to coom; lights are on, but nobodies home.
Now the pinned messages:
Quick search for "hrt" gave me these gems:
Average troon biology knowledge:
This is what we in the industry call "grooming":
The #anime-girls channel seems to be populated by one lone coomer, TaliSimp (aka rannisimp.):
There's a shocking amount of open minors in the server:
Panzer sadposting about how he's known more for shitposts and gooning then his bootleg 2hu: >dnsproject account was meant to separate gooning from serious business
>gooncord is literally attached to the game as its official channel for beta testing
How do you fuck up this hard?
He also apparently got reported to the DHS?
Brief cow-crossover of sorts (discussion during the BunnyCunny slapfight):
Bonus random.txt:
Lessons Learned: It seems the Discord of an obscure 2hu knockoff is in fact just a harem of troons (and a lone gooner in the #anime-girls channel.)
Fantastic update you have there! MAGA Momiji was a fun thing to post back then. It's fun but that presentation is just bright autistic colors to my eyes accompanied with its Comic Sans text. Hard to take it seriously with a display like that; I can only imagine how the class must have felt when it was being shown to them.
Again... with these tertiaries liking fatties. What is it with these dweebs that they end up lusting for people heavier than their stick physique? So happens to be trannies and their sympathizers as well. Cooming and junk food is a combination that doesn't work well in reality at all.
Color me shocked, I fucking hate everything about these screenshots. It has the whole checkbox list ticked off for what Discord is when summarized. This may come off as a little MATI here but he deserves the audience he cultivated, really.
I recall seeing some of the boss fights/characters people made with these programs, I think dev of Zeroranger still has some videos that date a decade back when he was making bullet hell fights in Fraxy. Kind of a shame that Fraxy seems to be dead, but I guess that's just how it goes for some ancient software with quite clunky interface. And all I recall of MUGEN nowadays is that Twittter people associate it with some of weird vore fetish characters and etc.
It does make me wonder why people complain about the audience they attract when all they do is hornypost or shitpost (Though I think there is an intersection there). What, they don't see all the degeneracy of all the porn addicts in those circles?
People always tell me Touhou music is bad in the newer games but I don’t know what they are smoking. Idolatrize World from 17 is my favorite song in the series, followed closely by Last Remote from 11. Might just be the oldfags, but I am also an oldfag

Almost all Touhou music is fantastic when someone isn't bitching about it in your ear. Even if I can't name every song off by heart, a majority of them goes hard.

They're probably just confusing Jun'ya Oota with Sega's Jun Senoue who, unlike ZUN himself, has severely lost his touch and is evident in games like Sonic Forces and Sonic Superstars, especially in the latter where there are other composers as well.
This thing is getting boosted by Youtube algorithm, I've seen it before when it was just in moon runes, but it got english subtitles and description recently, promises quite a lot of stuff.
Whole mention about "damaging clothes" makes me assume that it may get into extents some of the japanese fighting games and select Touhou fangames do, where on low health characters would have barely of a "cloth" or expose parts of the body that some would find arousing, but who knows?
Some of the top comments already managed to recognize that the doodle on buff guy's mask is some sensei from Blue Archive, and they're already "cryemojiposting" in there. There's an overlap between Blue Archive-fags and Touhoufags, right?

Check the description.
Sounds like a thinly veiled lolicon H-game (as if the panty shot, the Blue Archive mask on buff almost naked man who seems like a grappler character in the worst sense of the phrase, the term "suspicious adults" referring to the player characters, etc. didn't give that away).
Impressive that they've replaced Sinsacks with an even creepier character considering Blue Archive man is very specifically a pedophile.

Just what video did I watch on Youtube to deserve that being thrown my way?
"Players have the chance to get deeply involved in each girl's life and build bonds with her."
Yup. Whole thing is quite suspicious, wonder if anything could be found on what these Sanson Productions are. It's likely from Japan/China?

Channel Details says Hong Kong. China has been really active in the Touhou doujin scene recently, so it's not a big surprise. Now that I think of it, Blue Archive is also Chinese, isn't it?
Also has links to associated social media accounts. X Bilibili
Artist for the 2D fighting game moves that appear in the trailer is Nero Augustus, but I can't find anything for an account of his so we only have boorus to see what kind of art he does. Hints: he's big into Touhou, Street Fighter, gacha games, bondage, and women getting hurt. Link to a gallery of his works (NSFW)
Searched it up on wikipedia, Blue Archive (Ghostarchive) is made by Nexon Games (Ghostarchive), which are from South Korea. Originally BA was released in Japan as well, and I'd assume anything free and gacha is popular in China. (Is there a need to archive wikipedia articles?)
Now that I got my hands on something that doesn't load painfully slow, let's check what's in their Bilibili "community" tab, shall we? (Can't ghostarchive that, perhaps due to site being dynamic?)
Google-translated, channel name comes up as "Oriental frame friendship"

Q&A from game director
Oriental frame friendship
Edited on September 28, 2024
Q: What stage of development is the game currently at?
A: In the stacking stage, the game framework has been completed.
Q: What is the target age group of the game? Is it butter?
A: My lord. If you are referring to whether there can be adult content like CDPR, the answer is yes but it is not currently planned.
Q: Can you introduce the main gameplay or gameplay ideas of the game in detail?
A: Details will be explained at the 10.30 disclosure meeting.
Q: What is the background story setting of the game?
A: The Stranger is the half-life of the game player in Fantasyland. Most of the stories revolve around the changes caused by the influx of people from the foreign land.
Q: What are your plans for the subsequent development of the game?
A: We have designed a planning model that can improve the fan creation ecology. We currently call it "Suika-style creation". The purpose is to allow more fan authors to get the remuneration they deserve and to develop their favorite fan works full-time. Detailed information will be announced at the 10.30 disclosure meeting.
Q: What difficulties are you currently encountering during the development process?
A: It won't help to pour out the bitterness now. Let's talk about it at 10.30.
Q: What is the specific design of sandbox + fighting? Will the traditional fighting gameplay of Ru Feixiang Tianze be retained?
A: I won’t reveal too much at the moment, but what I can say is that the operation is much simpler than traditional fighting. There is a keyboard and mouse move mode, and the move speed is set to make it easier for people to react. The integration of fighting and sandbox is a surprise to be announced at the disclosure meeting, so let’s not mention it for now.
The purpose of choosing fighting as the main combat method is to match the immersion of living in Gensokyo. Therefore, large-scale barrage battles that would dilute the sense of environmental presence are avoided, and the focus is placed on expressing the close interaction between girls. Additionally, there will be no pvp mode.
Q: Friends think the game name is too abstract. Will the game content be more abstract?
A: Abstract, we don’t use that word (laughs). If you mean off-line, the story of this game is set on the basis of ensuring that the characters are realistic. If you are worried about Internet words such as "Sese", you can rest assured that we do not use such words.
Frame refers to fighting games, and friendship means friends getting together again. The reason is that this project was originally just to use three-rendering-two technology to reproduce an FTG similar to Feixiang Tianrule. I hope that people who have known each other through Oriental Fighting can Meet again. However, with subsequent discussions, the current goal is to use advanced technology in the gaming industry to create a game that allows players to experience the wonders of Gensokyo, dedicated not only to current Touhou fans, but also to players who will fall in love with Touhou in the future.
As for homophony, isn’t there a tradition in the East of homophony in titles (laughs). In this day and age, people are spending their savings to start a high-cost Oriental fan project. These people are definitely not in their right mind!
Q: Is there a crowdfunding plan and how do you plan to proceed?
A: A detailed answer will be announced at 10.30.
In addition, a special response to the controversy in the comment area about "suspicious adults" joining the war:
This character was a compromise made in the early stages of planning to solve the problem of insufficient funds to produce two high-standard animated characters. But I thought the setting of the crime bag was too novel, and I wanted it to be more humane, so I adopted a design that had no clear copyright but was relatable. Because the main purpose of the game's plot is to express the sense of generational conflict between the Orient and the new generation of games. Remilia in the first PC version represents the memory of the older generation of Orientals, and this "suspicious adult" can more or less represent the opposite, like this arrange.
Coincidentally, something happened later that made the "Suspicious Master" meet the conditions for being fantasy, so his optional setting as a player was determined, hoping to attract new players to pay attention to the East.
The image prepared for the players who are originally from the East is right in the middle of the ending poster.
In a sense, he has a similar situation to the protagonist of this game, the "realized girl (Alin)".
As a gamer, I understand very well the feeling of having my feelings and needs ignored by the authorities. In fact, I have never played that mobile game, not because I am a fan there, but because Gensokyo should be willing to accept the setting of Forgotten People.
Of course, if the official over there admits that the stick figure face represents the players who once trusted them, I will change the "suspicious adult" to another image in order to avoid copyright infringement (laughs)
Otherwise, this guy will continue to remain in a state of fantasy.
People who are just dreaming about a cute girl smiling at them should cross the barrier and become precious friends. This is what I look forward to.

(Links to the same Q&A as above)
I feel like Google translation did a shitty job, but the Q&A guy claims to not have played BA?
Ah, and they did sneak in a "hey mister" in the trailer, as some comments under the video claim.

I don't know what the fuck this means, but it sounds like it's a way to create a digital / actual sweatshop out of locally sourced Hong Kongers and SEA dogs.
I guess we'll learn more about it on the 30th, God help us all.
The one notable overlap that Blue Archive and Touhou has are those fumo nationalists and lolicon proshippers in their Xitter fanbases who like both of these games for the "cute and funny" moeshit. BA specifically is infested with those same types of people who would likely enjoy ecchi high school animes similar to it.
Of course, the progressive faction of Touhou Xitter would think that BA players have "Diddy Hitler particles" or something else like it so they're out of the question entirely. Not that I can fully blame them for thinking that if this is what we're seeing.
The game itself, by the way, is looking up to be some lame Chinesium sandbox fighter with a Touhou x Guilty Gear paint job. I don't even think the gameplay for this will be that good as I rarely see fan games have an excellent sense of control with the mechanics working well to its advantage. This one will likely be no different from the rest, but we'll see.
