Twitter is now making it so that people you block can see your posts. They still can't reply to them, though.

IIRC, the previous proposal and withdrawal of this idea, all the way back in 2013, was one of the instigating events that led to Twitter implementing all the stupid shit like its trust and safety council, which ultimate put Twitter into the position that let Elon take over. Pottery.

(Also the current system is stupid).

A guy I know who is deeply depressed messaged me making fun of people who believe the government can control the weather. I showed him that cloud seeding is common practice and he got real mad ackshuallying me. You’re depressed for a reason mate, you don’t believe in anything greater than yourself.

weather control has been a thing for a long time at this point, it's just not as instantaneous as point raygun at sky, rain happens. people get used to ideas from science fiction and cartoons, and when the real concept comes up, their ability to talk about the subject is stunted, much like a child.

I never liked Twitters Block System in the first place. I sometimes get blocked by people before I even know who they were and some of them were artists I wanted to support. However, the next rule that goes into effect is another reason people have been mass migrating to Bluesky. Apparently Elon Musk has been entitled to use images of other people's works in his AI system. It goes in effect on November 15.

That's really fucking lame. I'm all for AI art generators but you should give people the ability to opt out of it. They have an option regarding grok but apparently that's going away too?

Sure, theoretically, these people could've been talking about approaches like cloud sneeding and not implying that they used weather control technology to cause the hurricane. But the latter looks more likely due to the context.

The part about granting use of royalty-free license to whatever content you post is already in the ToS. The most recent update only adds training AI models as an example. I don't think it effectively changes anything.
I also haven't seen any actual evidence they're removing the option to opt-out of your posts being used to train Grok. Until I can find a post from Musk or something saying as such I'm inclined to believe it's just another case of twitter being the most retarded game of Telephone ever.

It seems like most deranged anti-ai artists and pornographers (no loss, really) will be migrating to the shithole known as blueshiftsky. So... eh, how long will it take for all of them to come back running to xitter...?

that's the point though, these people are just so insistent on their craziness, that they're unwilling to dial it down and talk about things that are easier.

You know, any block system that prevents you from seeing the blocker's content is inherently stupid. Blocking is just meant to be putting up a barrier between communication, not a full-on wall between them. The people flipping out against this are also mostly liberals and...I guess artists, both of which feel like they can control a person's access of what they can and can't see. Now they're spreading the rumor that Elon is removing the block button and to encourage stalkers and harassers to drive them to suicide via harassment....but of course if it was some far left freak who owned this, they would've celebrated this as a way to "own the bigoted chuds"

I don't think blocking has ever been effective against so-called stalkers and harassers because it's easy to just... make a new account. At that point your only option is to make your account protected which, guess what, you will still be able to do!

I don't get why these people don't already have that set up if they only want to use Twitter as a hugbox anyway, because it's always been terrible for artists just because of timeline and algorithm fuckery and the lack of a proper gallery function.

Maybe they're just hoping to naturally draw in people to convert them into enlightened assholes like them for being public...or just as a free blocklist so that they can be baited into being unable to see them again.....I guess I found their breaking point.

There is currently a switch for gork in security options. Elon said no more switch which is against UK ai rules. TOS is suppose override current Ai rules.
