Well, a symptom of internet tough guy syndrome is that it's a lot easier to rage at things that you can't actually change.
The symptom of an IRL tough guy is also being a jerk to store clerks or trying to take advantage of their policies. People that work in retail are often treated like crap regularly by people like Chris.

It's stuff like this that makes me wonder if Barb's death will roll off his back the same way.

"My mudder died at 7:50 and she was 75! LOL Amongwhich; I require the following LEGO sets..."
i really doubt it
his house got replaced and he bought a ton of new toys, and for the most part that's all he cared in that case
but barb dying? can't be replaced, there is no happy ending for that

Did anyone else notice how he said he's been feeling more off than usual, indicating that he's always feeling 'off', just moreso right now?

He is always feeling 'off'. Every other facebook status he mentions feeling 'dizzy', 'loopy', 'mentally blank and scattered' 'mentally here and there' all kinds of weird shit that I guess people who wake up at 3 in the afternoon and haven't eaten a vegetable in 6 years get.

It will be bad. I used to think it would be earth shattering for him. But now I think it will register slightly below BLUE ARMS on his tragedy scale. Sad, but a void that can be filled with cartoons.

I doubt her dying would register as much as 'should' for Chris. If anything, he might find reason to bemoan the lack of financial sources towards contributing to the growing hoard- at least until he sells some of the shit if he can bring himself to do that.

maybe it just affects people differently, but I don't recall ever having been "light-headed" from just a simple cold.

...You sure it's a cold, Chris?
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, a cold can affect your ears and cause dizziness (:powerlevel: I get this myself). Or possibly his sleep cycle is even more screwy than usual.

I wouldn't call that sort of person a "tough guy."

Well, he gets no exercise, has a shit diet, has a weird sleep cycle and it's pretty obvious from several posts that he suffers from depression. I'd be surprised if he ever feels 100%. That being said, this may be a sympathy ploy. Like, "I'm really sick right now, but I always feel bad anyway pls donate."

i know others have mentioned it before but jesus, not one mention of the cats? is it because most of them hated him?

why does he even have pets? does he see them as toys to entertain himself with? what does he do with them, pat them when he feels like it then...ignores them until they yowl at him for food?

This is a common question. I think it has to do with a misunderstanding of the nature of "outdoor cats", especially in more rural parts of the country. Depending on the household, outdoor cats can vary from being close members of the family (who happen to roam outside sometimes), to being essentially feral animals that occasionally wander indoors for food/shelter (but not permanently).

Chris' cats are more of the latter. Consider how he fed a family of cats in his backyard for awhile, until recently when he adopted one, Sorbet, and took it indoors. And he only did that because he saw Sorbet had an injured paw. If Sorbet wanders outside again (probably won't, but still), we might hear a mention from Chris, but ultimately he won't sweat over it. Sorbet was initially an outdoor cat, and can easily become one again.

Outdoor cats are sadly disposable. Or at the very least, not subject to any "owners" who have to maintain responsibility.
