I am trying to distinguish between the default 'Nick being stupid' and 'Nick being absolute scum'. This may be too fine a distinction for some, and that is fine.
You're right. It's so fine a distinction in this case so as to be practically meaningless and absurd.
He is giving money to a open pedo, who is Aaron's biggest alog, and who sexualizes children in general, and Aaron's daughter in particular. Moreover, we know that in at least one case, Nick has discussed Aaron's son openly with Melton. In another case, Melton said that he had a long DM conversation with Melton, and Nick sat there in chat and didn't correct him (
see BG's post, above).
Now you can sit there and argue that Nick might only want Melton to go after Aaron, and doesn't want to harm Aaron's kids, but the gigantic elephant in the room is that he's established himself as a confidant of Patrick fucking Melton.
He knows full well who Melton is, and how Melton operates. Yet he buddies up to him anyways.
The
only non-scummy move here is for Nick to have no association with Melton whatsoever. Just because he doesn't have a diverse choice of Aaron alogs (again, few people give a shit about Aaron) doesn't excuse this.
Isn't Nick's license auto-suspended this month if he doesn't get the legal education credits and pays the renewal fee?
I don't know exactly when they'll pull the trigger. As we established last year there is a grace period of sorts.
But yes. Eventually, if he does nothing, he will no longer be authorized to practice law.
I may be the wet blanket (as I previously expressed ITT), but I enjoy speculation less. I don't blame or mark down those who do, but I'll express my scepticism when I think it may be warranted.
I agree with Balldo's Gate. Not all speculation pans out, but his is generally more often than not correct.
