question: assuming nick was offered a plea deal (and i'm not sure how we would know or if that's the sort of thing that would be filed publicly (i think the filings include kayla's plea offer?),) could he accept the plea at any time, or does that als have to wait until the scheduling conference? my hair-brained research (IANAL) indicates that he could accept the plea at any time and file his acceptance of the plea, if he has one on offer and agrees to it. so with each day that passes, this means that either 1) he's working on a deal with the prosecutor behind the scenes to get a plea deal that hasn't been finalized yet but he is intending on taking it when he receives a version of it that satisfies him or 2) he has a plea deal on the table and is just refusing to take it and is gonna fight. The third option is that he hasn't been and won't be offered a plea deal, but i think that's unlikely.

There is a lot of "lore" concerning Maddox, that is sourced from Dick, that is probably less than reliable because it comes from Dick. Maddox has refuted some of these points in a long video he did a year or two ago, including how he responded to Dick hooking up with 80s Girl. The video has actually been pretty well reviewed (i.e. Kino Casino, Null). I thought it was pretty decent, myself. The chief complaint is that he released it too late to really matter.

Maddox will likely never be completely rehabilitated, but I think he might actually end up better than Dick in the end.

Farmers, at this juncture I think it’s time to whip out some plausible tinfoil hat theories, considering the turns this cow’s story has taken so far and the lack of news.

Nothing below is off the table, that I can tell, and several of the below can be true at the same time:

Kayla is in inpatient rehab or has been in/voluntarily committed for psychiatric reasons (called 253B in MN): When was the last time we saw ‘signs of life’? When was the last time Nick mentioned her? It’s been a while. Bob (or others) may be staying with Nick to help with the kids during her absence.

Nick is declaring bankruptcy: Plausible. The only high-value asset he owns in his name is the second home, seemingly. The main home is owned by the Trust and is protected from bankruptcy. He has made a pittance in late 2023 and 2024. He’s even ignoring the easy paycheck: LOCALS. As much as $20K/mo went to drugs. To different degrees, this gets him out of debt to Rendazza, taxes, and future support for the kids and Kayla. It also may explain why Bob is getting Nick’s mail if Bob has taken over the finances.

Divorce arc is already in play: The boss bitch lawyer (BBL) Kayla hired may have gotten through to her. BBL has compelled the second house for sale so Kayla gets some cash. If Nick claims destitution, courts can compel the future funds from this sale to pay for her needs, legal counsel, etc.

CPS and/or Bob have demanded no streaming in the house with the kids: As the source of his income, it’s unlikely the State would demand no streaming. However, for the sake of the kids, and the fact that he broadcast mere feet from their bedrooms, CPS can demand no streaming within the home. The kids may have expressed this wish. Nick is too lazy to get his ass over to the second home to stream, and knows this would be fodder for gossip.

Nick and/or Kayla have failed drug or alcohol tests and/or the “recovery” counselor did not sign off on productive participation: This would trip up the CPS reunification of the kids with Kayla and Nick. Perhaps CPS has demanded that grandparent (s) be present in the home, or a variety of other treatment plans.

One or more of the kids have gone rogue: Also plausible. Nick’s black eye, Kayla’s hugging her eldest and admitting parental failure, and the child testing positive are all damning. There is no confirmation that all the children were returned to Nick’s home. Plenty of teenage boys turn on their fathers, particularly when they feel protective of their mother or sister. This kid could be causing a variety of complications for the CPS or even the criminal case if they are willing to testify. (It’s a stretch to say the 9 yo girl would be that rouge kid, but also a possibility if the dosing was intentional and she’s said so.)

Aaron or others may have come forward with more evidence in the CPS or criminal case: This is a black hole for information but also entirely possible. If so, it presents far more challenges to both cases depending on the evidence provided. Kayla’s family or even Bob and Celeste may have turned on him with evidence or testimony to bad behavior. Maybe even April or Kayla. Each party has reasons to do so. It’s a stretch, but who knows?

Kayla and April are conspiring against Nick: Biggest stretch theory but I could get my mind around their collusion to prove that Nick’s the unfit parent, possible abuse allegations, more information about drugs, et al. Keep in mind April has already told (false?) stories of Aaron being abusive.
