They pulled the original Genesis games from the Xbox store too, wanted to snag them before the store shut down. Guess there is about a hundred other ways to play them, but I wanted to get comfy near my TV and pad out my cheevo score.

The line changes are one thing but they're too anal about the lore to ever properly change it. I'm kind of glad about that.

As many of you have already brought up, Ian Flynn is largely responsible for a lot of these changes. Another writer from IDW who seems to have influence is one Daniel Barnes.
He's notably already trying to poison the well by calling anybody who complains about the changes as "bad faith anti-woke grifters."
Another notable thing is that him and Flynn are pretty huge crybullies with skin as thin as paper. They block people who they don't even interact with if they even whiff a bit of criticism.
But they have no problem sending their fanboys at people.

Ex-Something Awful Goon and Youtuber who accepted years worth of money via Patreon despite not producing videos, CyberShell, is defending his fag daddy Ian Flynn from mean grifter Grummz.
I'd accuse him of being jealous of someone else grifting off small, autistic details only Sonic fans care about but that would mean Cybershell was actually planning on making more videos in a timely manner.

I'm not going to suggest that Ian is some kind of genius when it comes to writing, but the endless criticism towards him on places like Twitter does get old after a while. The Sonic fanbase is so fractured and splintered that asking for any kind of middle ground (i.e. where a creator and fans can actually discuss aspects of the work in a reasonable manner) is impossible, and getting involved is just asking for a headache.

That's so disappointing, I liked Cybershell. The first and biggest red flag was when he was in some podcast of his talking about Chris Chan and using female pronouns, so I'm not surprised he's defending these woke fags.

I didn't watch his videos cause they were edgy or anything. The general tone hasn't changed much from the earliest videos to the modern ones. It's a guy with a basic level of humor who could poke fun at the franchise while not self flagellating himself 24/7 for daring to be interested in it. And he wasn't talking about how it opened him up to furry fandom or some other degenerate fetish.
I already knew he had lefty tendencies if you dig through his timeline or just remember that he's an SA goon. Most importantly, it didn't seep into his videos for the most part. But the ONE thing he should not be doing is defending these nonsense changes. He knows better. If he has a problem with Mark Kern, I don't fucking care. But he chose this to be the one time he even mentions the changes. It's not like he's gonna make a video about it. And despite talking massive shit on Twitter, he is never aggressive in his videos or in real life for that matter.

Japanese script seems to be left completely untouched. Reuses voice clips except for Eggman's actor who redubbed lines after replacing the past actor who passed away.
You can see why these has beens are so attached to Sonic cause anything wholly original from them shows just how shit they are at their jobs.

Paying 50 bucks for a censored game with 5 plus new levels is not worth it if you already played the original game. All this game has done is make me wonder how the future of the series will look like from now on.
