I guess you're unaware that Joker and Joker 2 were directed by the same person in Todd Phillips. The man who brought us fratboy comedies like "Road Trip" and "Old School", then turned to misanthropic, cynical, nihilistic dark "comedies" such as the "Hangover" trilogy (with garnered him huge success) and Due Date, then tried his attempt at being semi-serious with "War Dogs" which was an unfocused biopic about arms dealers. And then "Joker" won him serious acclaim and bigger success than The Hangover. One day, I will find out what the hell went wrong with Joker 2. Don't be bothered to spoil me about it, because I want to find out for myself.
