Why would it be "over-socialization"? I think under-socialization seems a far more likely culprit. If you're exposed to many different people, cultures and lifestyles, you're going to see that women and men can dress and behave in all sorts of ways and their clothing and behavior doesn't cause them to no longer be women or men.
