Might be a couple months late on this but you nailed it on the head and I wanted to write on this. Fact is Kabrutus tried biting more off than he can chew at a price that's decaying his credibility in real time.

I'm actually friends with Kabrutus' old friends, Alex, Retro and Xynjy who was mentioned in a recent article posted here, who actually helped start his run with SBI Detected and the official Discord server (they were all admins there and the Server was created and maintained by Retro and Alex). Contrary to belief the server is where they did most of their decisions and communications from, especially with other creators. Didn't last long until Kabrutus decided to throw them under the bus and kick them out, including me and 100 other active supporters, all for a shitty $800 or so a month (and dropping) and the promise of an interview with Niche Gamer, which never came. You can thank game journalist and self-proclaimed GG1 veteran Marco "Corrosion" Giovetti for that, as well as the news section that nobody asked for and other things.

Currently working on making a separate Lore dump post with plenty more info on this but I wanted to touch upon this before I do. They've been trying to memoryhole a lot of their shitty behaviors and absolute state of their current operations and we just couldn't keep quiet any longer. All of it could have turned out way better if Kabrutus didn't let it get to his head and go for the "Anti-woke" savior route.

Just figuring out what I need to avoid as I've been informed KF has anti-doxxing policies for certain pieces of information, So I'll post a few front-facing evidences for now. Most of us have never interacted with KF before until now so pardon my newfag behavior.

We wanted to do this sooner but we wanted to avoid their gaze and give Kabrutus and DEID the benefit of the doubt to improve but that day didn't come. The former admins Alex, Retro and Xynjy have known Kabrutus way before the Steam Curator was made and let's just say his humble facade is a sharp contrast to what he used to be prior.

Not asking for a call to action or anything. Just an info dump to get it out there, take it as you will.

All I will say for now is:

• It was never meant to be a money-making opportunity. Made by a group of gamers.
• After the slew of interviews and attention, Kabrutus got too big for his own britches
• After the server got hacked and Corrosion, a known Italian game journalist, came in, promised him connections, reputation and an interview with Niche Gamer in exchange for a piece of the pie and a shitty news section it's been downhill ever since.

There has also been numerous complaints from followers about his admin and moderators portraying woke and absolute Nonce behavior with NSFW Loli/Shota art in the General Chat of the server. Like I said before, the Discord server is their main line of communication and connection with other creators and the link to it is directly on the front page of his website. If he's going to consider what he's doing is a professional business, then there needs to be accountability for him and those that work for him. Their response to these complaints were not to comply or listen but to silence and ban people instead:

This works a few ways including a company paying him to investigate them and then say they're DEI free which is advertising although I'm not sure its worth 200 dollars - it could reach 500k people on steam that its a recommended DEI Free game.

I think the group and being able to instantly ID woke shit from steam helps, I follow 3 different groups just to hopefully catch blind spots, and they are very helpful. And beyond that considering the deplatforming nature of the woke, I think a diverse range of critics and bulwarks helps. Kabrutus gets taken down? still have smashJT. SmashJT somehow gets fucked by alyssa? we still have sidescrollers, ect.

No one is saying that dude is Jesus. He is just a man. A useful one. He might have some skeletons in his closet but that does not mean he is guilty of the things he is accused. Accounts might be false or inflated. I will say this though: No one would want to be crucified on the unproven account of a rando.

It is not just about the money. If he was being flooded with requests then it is reasonable to want to filter out the attention seekers. "SEE THIS GAME! NO, SEE THIS GAME!" Games take time to finish (goes triple for the multiple paths/endings like BG3) and are damn expensive to buy. There are only so many hours in the day and he has other things to do (and he might want to play a non-woke game too as a palate cleanser too). Chances are that he is probably investigating whatever game you have in mind or has it on his schedule. The high price is not meant to be paid by anyone reasonable.

I would not say irrelevant. He is not as relevant as he would have been but he started the fire and is one of the bigger names in this attention field. The fact that there are others does not make him irrelevant.

I don't actually know if SBI or another similar company had anything to do with the game but I figure this is a good enough thread for this - I was somewhat hopeful and optimistic when I heard about Subnautica 2, even after Below Zero. I mean, the tide seems to be turning, even if slightly, right? Checked out the steam page for it, began watching the trailer, promptly put the game on ignore after a short number of seconds. I don't know why I should have expected anything different.

I'm disappointed, but not surprised. It was only a matter of time before wokeness came for metroid. I knew for a while that this would happen since Dread didn't have any alluring pictures of Samus for unlockable ending screens.
Metroid prime beyond is going to be woke, given that Retro Studios is still in the liberal capital of Austin, Texas, and because samus was uggofied in the metroid prime remaster.

Kinda similar to Grummz, that despite being an embarrassing fuckup, he worked on WoW so he gives "legitimacy".

He was lifted up 100% by the rest of the anti woke content Tubers who couldn't even bother to look at how unprepared for the job he was, it was just extra views and content to suck up and still is when SBI and Alyssa Mercante decide to sperg out every once in a while his way, but that's slowly dwindling.

The body didn't start to decay though until Corrosion came into the picture and convinced him to monetize the culture war he became a part of.
I have screenshots of DMs between most of them and how the entire Hacking incident went down and more, with the help of the ex-admins and former friends of Kabrutus that I'm co-operating with as we speak, but I am not sure if I am allowed to share them here. All of these were posted by the moderators themselves (main culprits being the two represented in these screenshots) in the general chat of the Official Discord, along with some really fucking degenerate behavior and coping, even though they have had rules of "No Loli, Shota, Furry, or Porn":

Before the evidence purge, this fucker "Australian Elf" in question, who is also a grown ass man but likes to pretend he's a female online (Funny how often that happens), posted over 600 media instances alone before they nuked everything.




Again, a fuck ton of people complained about the degeneracy that the mods themselves did on a daily basis, as well as cases of erotic roleplay by one of the mods (A furry femboy who plays Husband with another on the server). People sending in tickets with their concerns and DMs to mods were silenced and banned instead, until the backlash got too much. But instead of getting rid of their disgusting pedo mods, they simply deleted evidence and acted like nothing happened. Too bad they suck at their job to get rid of everything, several of these are still in public display.
