Keeping this as short as I can, so apologies if things feel skipped over.

Slavery was the wedge issue that led to the civil war. It was a bunch of slaveowners using their financial and political power to drag everyone else in the South into the war. The North hates the South because the South was winning until a few key losses along with attrition tipping the scales. Lee also made the North work for their wins every time. Things would have been fine after the war if John Wilkes Booth didn’t shoot President Lincoln. That is literally the start of the reconstruction bullshit.

It isn’t a case of the South “not listening to their betters”, it is a case of stupid pieces of shit thinking “Now’s MY time to be special!” in moments of national tension and ruining the country bit by bit. That dipshit that tried to shoot Trump would have been Booth round two, but thankfully he missed.

It’s more than likely that he was advised to do so in the event that Kamala tries to spin it like he’s choosing a side, when she can’t accept the terms: long, unscripted conversation on Rogan’s turf. Better to get out in front of an accusation with a carefully worded tweet with a deliberately good-natured and well-intentioned tone.
