Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

my biggest problems were how random bullshit happenstance propelled every plot point, and when Orion became Prime and got the Matrix and D12 or whatever the fuck his name was became Megatron with that cog, they should have got their real voices. the voice acting took me out of the movie hardcore the whole time. if he'd come out of that hole as Peter Cullen it would have propelled the movie up a lot for me.

It was fine, it was fun and had some cool shit in it, if I was 6 I would have loved it. however their advertising people should be drug out and shot because they fucked that movie for any success at all. I posted here about that first trailer being horrible and promptly forgot it got made and only remembered it existed because it was on the private pirate forum I'm in today and went oh shit yeah I gotta watch that train wreck and it ended up being good.

It did put me in a transformers mood though so I'm going to go ahead and read that current comic line that's going on this weekend, and I will buy the movie when a 4k disc drops

Thor was the worst of the voice actors but him falling into the planet and getting upgraded is a long-running precedent, Primus pulled him in, rebuilt his chosen warrior and shot him back out to confront the infection.

Megatron was the star of the show, his VA really didn’t have to go as hard as he did. The constant nods to Megatron Origin were really appreciated, especially Sentinel’s “Apex mode” it’s the rare example of what should be a sloppa film actually having a lot of research and heart put into it.

I didn't mind the Primus thing, that was set up the whole movie and I assumed that's probably always been his origin. I just thought him continuing to sound like Hemsworth was frustrating because even though he looks and acts more like Optimus Prime by the very end I still can't take his voice seriously.

Megatron, due to Frank not being used for the films (the three that people actually watched) naturally lends himself more to varied voices, whereas Optimus is Peter Cullen.

I’ve always been torn between Fred Tatasciore’s genuine lunatic “destroyer” Megatron and Corey Burton’s cool and rehearsed “emperor” Megatron. Because those represent what I consider the two “blueprints” for Megatron, the gladiator and the tyrant. Only one version successfully married the two concepts (IDW) and he was ruined by a gay limey.

Henry’s “working guy who snaps” is great and watching TF One, I believe this Megatron could go on to become both, like I could see him giving empassioned speeches on “Autobot tyranny” then going apeshit and turning Trypticon on refugee ships.

Sadly we won’t see it cause this movie failed spectacularly.

That’s unfortunate, hope Warden finds solid ground, dude managed the best years of the TF brand (Siege and TR), TR in particular was what got me into this shit.

Reading that GoFundMe was rough, Hasbro fired the wrong people.

i will never get why it aired in europe a month after it did in the US.
it would not have made it a sure fire hit, but if you wanted to watch it the chance that people would just pirate it is far bigger.
also the toyline was a dud. not that it was bad, but there are to many simple toys, bots missing who show up in the movie(how did we never get elita-1, D-16/megatron or fucking darkwing in the prime changers line) and to many gimmick toys.

does anyone know if the knockoff devastator from ROTF devastator from studio series you can get on aliexpress is any good? i got an itch for an ugly ass complex beast but the official one is just far to expensive.

is there a lot of fags in the transformers fandom? I haven't engaged with it since elementary school beyond people I know irl and basically just looking at their toys and saying which ones I think are cool and I'm halfway through the current Energon Universe comic and in the comment section on the site I was reading it on there was someone who was like this ain't bad how long until Optimus is revealed as gay or something. and that guy was downvoted heavily and people were like I can't wait sounds based blah blah blah.

this was weird to me because this particular site every non woke comic gets comments like this and they're either upvoted or totally split with people laughing/agreeing or autistically screeching at them, not only the latter.

from the little I've seen in this thread I'm assuming that's sort of a jab at IDW which apparently gets really bad at some point? (btw if anyone has a cut off point for that let me know I've wanted to read it forever but I'd like to jump ship before it goes to hell) but anyways I just thought that was weird so I'd figure I'd ask if there is typically homo weirdos outside of Chris Chan infesting the TF world. I noticed trannies and fags have shit up the Godzilla/Toho Kaiju space the last few years so I shouldn't be surprised they're probably all over the TF too because its also something I loved as a child that they just have to ruin any discussion of on the internet.

It’s the IDW and TF: Prime demographics who brought the fag shit, there’s some gross dyke who snuck lesbians into the awful Kingdom show and is one of the ones behind all the crap in Earthspark. Mae Catt is her name and she has declared to be “the gay agenda,” fortunately she’s contained to cheap cartoons.

Outside of those it’s limited and contained, I’m willing to bet Hasbro has rules now after IDW’s repeat embarrassments. Skybound in particular has an amazing lack of woke shit and characters who aren’t original G1, I hope it stays that way.

For IDW, the cutoff is Dark Cybertron when Windblade arrives, that’s when the woke gets dialed up and the women arrive. Also ignore the IDW reboot of TF, it’s so fucking gay, they shit around and talk, while the author churns out as many OCs as possible.

yeah I'll avoid the modern shows for kids, I'm too old to be indoctrinated into that shit but I'd rather not know what the poor children of the world have now. what's the deal with the Prime Wars and War for Cybertron trilogy? the only guy I know who's really into TF to the point he watches all of it is this random negro who I worked with in a warehouse and invited me to his house once and he showed me his collection of semi automatic guns and transformers toys.

anyway he off handedly mentioned those things to me a long time ago as their attempts to gain an adult audience in shows. are they cool? are they filled with modern dayisms or suck for other reasons? I don't know what that guy thought of them he just told me they were trying to get people back with them.

also it looks like IDW's cut off is about the half way point? sucks they did 500 issues and half of it is infected with what's ruined everything else. I'm not even going to try to read after that point though.

They’re crap, both suck and should not be watched, WFC and Prime Wars are pure crap. There’s dykes in the third part of the WFC trilogy. The cast is all cheap New York VAs.

You want “mature” TF content? Early IDW under Furman is “Ultimate” Transformers, Dreamwave was fun but it was unfinished and Marvel is the best, so much so that it got three seperate continuations.

Skybound is taking a lot from Marvel with the cartoon’s trappings.

Prime wars had some interesting/cool bits like overlord just showing up and beating the shit out of the boring ass characters. Wasn't the g1 era later JP only seasons overlord where it was technically a mech piloted by evil humans and was more like the g1 toy bio/IDW overlord where he's just a big guy that can and probably will fuck you up.
This is literally all you need to see of prime wars lmao

It was intentionally done like that to try and make it look more like frame by frame anime. The end result just ended up looking weird in a way where you had to put the video on 1.5x or 2x speed to not get nauseous in a lot of cases.

I hope the person who decided to do that never works in animation again. I have never had such a visceral physical reaction to animation in my entire life. it literally made me feel sick. I'm sure they said that was why they did it but I can't imagine ANYONE looked at it in progress and thought it looked good, it must have been way cheaper to do that way or something instead.
